Narcoossee's

What are everyone's thoughts on this place? We wanted to go somewhere different for our trip in September and my husband and I are huge steak fans, when looking we came across Narcoossee's and made a ressie for it. Now I am reading the boards and not seeing much talk about it, most people are talking about the Yachtsman Steakhouse. So we are wondering now if we should try and switch or just stick with what we have. Any suggestions? Is Narcoossee's good?

Narcoossee's is really more of a seafood restaurant than a steak place.

If you really want steak you should probably consider Yachtsman (over at the Yacht Club Resort) or maybe Shula's (which is located over at the Swan / Dolphin).

I've not eaten at either of these two restaurants, but they seem to get pretty decent reviews around here.

I liked Narcoossee's but it would not be the place I'd recommend for a steak dinner. Just my opinion.

Agree. I think they have but one steak on the menu. A place like Yachtsman (or Shulas) has several steak choices.

I guess I'll be the lone dissenter. I just got back from WDW May 3rd-10th and used the DxDDP. At Yachtsman Steakhouse I had a NY Strip Steak, at California Grill I had the Oak Fired Filet, at Narcoosee's I had the Surf and Turf, and at Le Cellier I had the Mushroom Filet Mignon. The Surf at Narcoosee's was just OK and I wished I had substituted scallops for it, but that steak was by far the best I had all week. It was MUCH better than the ones I had at Yachtsman and Le Cellier. I also discovered my new all time favorite dessert there with their Almond Crusted Cheesecake . If you do go, be sure to ask for a window table, facing Magic Kingdom and arrive in time to watch Wishes.

You can also watch "Wishes" and the EWP from Narcoosee's. It's a pretty restaurant, right on the water at the GF!

Had the filet at Narcoosee's in Feb. and it was excellent. True, they do not have a variety of steak choices, like Le Cellier or Yachtsmen, only the filet, but it was excellent. Also, I have to agree with PP about the cheesecake. Absolutely mouth-watering!!!

We ate at Narcoosees last week -- had a window seat and watched Wishes for the first time over the water. It was gorgeous!

The food -- mmmmmm -- we all ordered surf and turf and the filet was so tender, you literally could cut it with a fork -- it was to die for -- add the lobster bisque and the almond-crusted cheesecake to that "die-for" list too -I highly recommend Narcooses -- beware, though -- our tip was over $60 for dinner. Ouch.

DH ans I LOVE LOVE LOVE Narcoossee's. We start our trip to the world with N's being our first dinner on our first night. The food is delicious.

DH really liked the S-n-T, I really enjoyed the filet. Can't wait to go back!!

OMG! Thanks so much for the advice. I am definitely going to stick with Narcoossee's! I have a ressie for around the same time as Wishes I didn't even think about that when I made the ressie! This is awesome, and I can't wait to try the cheesecake and filet. My mouth is watering

We had my birthday dinner there last September and it was fabulous. We got the surf n' turf and split it, so we could have salads and appetizers and a great bottle of wine and dessert. We were right on the window, but the waitress suggested we might want to take our glasses of wine out on the deck to watch the fireworks from there, which we did and it was wonderful.

narcoosees is our favorite restaurant - love the location, the view, the beautiful interior, the great service

but especially the food! - crab cakes, scallops, lobster and the almond crusted cheesecake: incredible!

next trip, we're also arranging for a mini castle cake at dessert (in addition to the aforementioned almond crusted cheesecake - so good, i dream about it.... )

How long does dinner at Narcoosee's take? What we'd like to do is try and plan it so that Wishes is starting right as we're finishing up dinner (difficult I know) so we'd like to make reservations accordingly. What are we looking at? 1 hour? 1.5 hours?

Just a guesstimate, please.

My favorite too! The surf and turf is devine, the cheesecake is incredible. Mkes me drool just thinking about it! I can't wait to have it all again in a few months!

This was my favorite meal on our last trip. I had a wonderful filet there. We had a window table and a great view.

We' trying out CG this year instead, but hope to return on the next trip.

This is mine and DH's favorite restaurant by far! I absolutely LOVE the filet and have to have it ever time! (Following by the almond-crusted cheesecake of course) Glad you're going to stick with it - I don't think you'll be at all disappointed!

The pace of your dinner depends largely on you. Do you get appetizers? Linger over your meal? Drink a bottle of wine or a glass? Dessert?

We made reservations for an hour before the fireworks, and we watched them shortly before our main course arrived--we had an appetizer and a bottle of wine before the surf n' turf meal.

We figured a reservation an hour before would at least get us seated before the fireworks began. I wouldn't aim for a specific time to be in your meal when the fireworks start, but to at least have been seated, taking into account sometimes there are delays in seating.

Narcoossee's was our opening night dinner at WDW last year and I only need one word to sum it up and my 6yo nephew needed just one as well:

Me: Wow and for Him: Yummy

My Mom had that Almond crusted cheesecake and it was heavenly, but the kids banana split is pretty good as well.

Everything we had was fantastic (sorry I passed on the turf in for scallops instead) even the 6yo called his Mickey pasta the best ever(yup sauce on the side so he could dip it ).

Please just head out to the deck to view Wishes. There will likely be a crowd in front of the window. Don't stress yourself by hoping or getting irritated that they're not moving out of the way. They really aren't trying to block your view.

This is a must do on each of our trips as well. You can eat the Filet with your fork. Very very good. The drinks ain't bad either .

We always plan to eat so that we can go directly to the deck for wishes after dinner.

It's a highlight of our trips and everyone looks forward to it.

We had a 6:25 ADR and were to step out on the deck just in time for Wishes at 8. I would say 1.5 hours for an average dinner time. We had appetizers and dessert.

I'd suggest Narcoossee's over Yachtsman. We've gone to both (the first several times) and prefer Narcoossee's much more. The steak is fantastic there and the service is impeccable. You can also see Wishes (music is pumped in) and the Electric Water Pageant on the surrounding water area. It is a great experience.
