Trying to make a final dining reservation for our trip & I'd like input on Narcoossees's vs. Jiko vs. Yachtsman.

We've been to Jiko before & loved it. Never been to Narcoossee's but have heard great things. We're looking for a sort of romantic dinner option, and I know Jiko has a nice atmosphere. That being said, we'll be over at BC without a car, so getting to Jiko would be difficult. At least Narcoossee's is on the monorail.

I also considered Yachtsman Steakhouse since it'll be near our hotel but DH isn't a huge steak lover. Are other options on the Yachtsman menu as good as the steak?

Thoughts? If you had to pick one dinner at one of these places which would you pick? Or does anyone have another recommendation for a romantic dinner for two?

(We aren't on the DDP so credits aren't an issue)

Jiko-too far away, though very yummy.
Yachtman Steakhouse-although extremely delicious and near by, you will have more choice in seafood and other then steak meals at Narcoosee's.

My vote would be for a late dinner at Narcoosee's. Beautiful restaurent on the water, great service, wonderful romantic atmosphere and beyond great food. Then a romantic walk around the grounds afterwards. Perfect!

Hell, I'd book a couples massage at the Grand Floridian Spa before hand, shower at the spa, dress for dinner, and walk over from the GF spa to Narcoosee's.

Voila, perfectly romantic evening!
;)

Jiko is my favorite, so I'd put it a country mile ahead of the other two (which I think are good, but not anything I'm aching to revisit). But if taking Disney transportation to Jiko seems like too much of a hassle to you, may I suggest Flying Fish or Bluezoo? I think both are better than Narcoossee's and Yachtsman, and both are within walking distance of your resort. Flying Fish isn't romantic, but the food is fantastic. Bluezoo has a wonderful atmosphere and I think would be an ideal place to have an intimate dinner.

I have not been to Yachtsman yet.

Between Narcoossee's and Jiko, there is no contest for me. I would always pick Jiko. Narcoo's was just not up to the same standard as the other signatures. On the whole, it was just OK....and for signature prices, you should get more than 'just ok'.

If you want a romantic signature dinner, I think your best bet is Citricos. It's got the best ambiance for a quiet(er), romantic meal. Plus, it's absolutely amazing! I have reviews in both my DR's if you're interested - links in my signature.

My favorite Signatures are Flying Fish, followed closely by Citricos. Citricos is more upscale and quieter. However, Flying Fish is the only restaurant where I consistently like my appetizer, entree, and dessert and would go back just for any one of the three.:rotfl: I love their tomato/mozzarella salad, mussels, or cheese plate for an appetizer, their scallops or char crusted steak for an entree, and whichever trio happens to be on the menu that night for dessert. Last May I took a very picky eater there and we were both concerned she wouldn't find anything she liked. At the end of the trip she said that the Flying Fish was her favorite meal. She loved all three courses of her meal (crab cake, mussels, and banana Napoleon).

Citricos has my favorite appetizer on property though (crab gateau) and their pork loin and steak are pretty good. Service is always wonderful. For a couple's meal, that would probably be my choice.

I love Jikos also, but agree it's a pain to get to and from using WDW transportation.

The last couple of times I've eaten at Yachtsman I've enjoyed their lamb. In fact, I like the char crusted steak at Flying Fish, better than any of the steaks I've had at Yachtsman. However, I've not been impressed with Yachtsman's desserts.

California Grill might be another option, especially if you can get seated close to the time Wishes starts. We love their sushi, flat breads, pork loin, and cheese plate.

If you like wild game, another option might be Artist Point. It is usually quiet and we love their mushroom soup, mussels, and buffalo. Service has always been great. I just love walking into the Wilderness Lodge lobby and also enjoy taking the boat back to MK at night.

Narcossee would probably be close to last on my list of Signatures. Because you can get steak and lobster on the DDP, it seems to have alot more kids than it used to and can be noisy at times. Also the food is just OK. I do love their almond cheesecake though.

Of the 3 I guess Jiko would be my choice.

But if I were you (which of course I am not) I'd walk around to the Boardwalk and do Flying Fish. Or better yet walk a bit farther and do Blue Zoo at the Dolphin.

I'll second this!:thumbsup2
