I just finished helping my future SIL plan a surprise honeymoon for my daughter to Disney. He picked out the restaurants and we made the reservations last week.

One restaurant he chose that we have never visited is Narcoossee's I need some help with the dress code, so I can make sure my daughter packs appropriately.

The reservation is at 5:30pm. She does not do well in the heat normally. She knows what steps to take to make sure she doesn't pass out or get sick. Usually, she wears tank tops and light shorts, as well as keeping hydrated.

So my question is does anyone have a suggestion as to what would be appropriate for the restaurant but also cool and comfortable for walking through a park after dinner.

Are Sandals ok to wear? I don't mean flip flops, but actual sandals. I have a couple of pairs that I wear with my dresses to church in the summer. So that is the kind I am referring too.

I also need to know what to have my SIL pack for himself.

TIA

The hotter it is, the more casual some people will dress. I always wear capris, a nice top and sandals. My husband wears khakis and polo shirts.

There is no restrictions other than no bathing suits, no ripped/torn clothing, no profanity on clothing and no hats on men.

Half of the restaurant will be in business casual. Half will be in park attire. She should wear what makes her comfortable.

I thought the signatures didn't allow tank tops too. Is that still the case?

Tank tops are not allowed for men, according to Disney's dress code. There is no prohibition against women wearing sundresses, tank or camisole-style tops.

Sandals, even flip flop style, will probably be OK as long as the wearer doesn't look like they came straight from the pool. Disney also states cutoff shorts are not permitted, I think that goes along with the torn clothing.

We've been there several times to eat, and usually around 6 PM. Most everyone there at that time of evening is in capris and a nice top with sandals for the women and khakis with a golf style shirt for the men. (I think it's a bit more casual at that time of the evening because most people plan to go to one of the parks after they eat dinner and need to be comfortable.) I have never felt uncomfortable or underdressed.:goodvibes

This is the official dress code information from the Disney Dining website:

Men: Dress slacks, jeans, trousers, or dress shorts, short- or long-sleeved shirt
with a collar or t-shirt required. Jackets are optional.
Ladies: Jeans, skirt, or dress shorts with blouse, sweater or t-shirt, or a dress required.
Not permitted: tank tops, swimsuits or swimsuit cover-ups, hats for gentlemen,
cut offs, or torn clothing of any kind.

That being said, I agree with the PPs that tank tops (as long as they're not the underwear types) would probably be fine. There are plenty of business suit outfits that have sleeveless tops. My guess is that code is going for business casual/nice date type look, but mainly just trying to prevent ultra casual look (like straight from the pool).

Thank you so much for all of the information. These two newlyweds are only 19 and 20 and will need guidance on how to dress. Their idea of business casual is very different from the rest of us. So I want to make sure I help them pack the right things.
