Narcoossee Question

Originally, we were driving to WDW, arriving in the early afternoon on 12/24. We booked a 7:30 ressie at Narcoose.

Yesterday, we were able to land very reasonable air fare, so now we are flying to MCO, arriving at 5:20 and then taking DME to VWL to check in.

Do you think we will make our ressie? If we are a bit late for our 7:30 ressie, can we still be seated?

I would try to see if you can get a later reservation at Narcoossee's. Taking DME there is a very slim chance that you'll make it to your reservation on time even if your flight is on time. Traveling on Christmas Eve I would guess that your flight will probably be delayed a bit.

If you are on time...

5:20 - Land
5:30 - De-Plane and walk to DME area
5:40 - Arrive down by DME if you MOVE through the airport and have no stops
5:50 - Check in at DME Window (assuming there is a moderate line)
6:20 - Depart MCO on DME (again assuming there is only a slight line. Those busses only go when they are full)
6:50 - Arrive at VWL (Usually they are one of the last stops)
7:00 - Check in (assuming there is no line)
7:10 - Hop bus to Magic Kingdom (assuming one didn't just go by and you need to wait 20 minutes for the next bus)
7:20 - Arrive at Magic Kingdom - walk to boat launch (I would not recommend the monorail for transportation only because it's such a hike from the monorail station to Narcoossee's. The boat landing is very close to Narcoossee's)
7:35 - Hop on boat to Grand Floridian
7:45 - Arrive at Grand Floridian

In my experience the above is pretty much a best case scenario. I would guess that it'll be at least 8:00-8:15 before you can realistically be there and even that is assuming there are no plane delays.

You can speed things up a little by taking a cab from VWL to the GF. But I agree that this is still very tight.

I agree that it is so tight under the best circumstances you will still be late.

Later than 15mins they will give your table away and you will have to be a walk up (if they are taking them at that time).
Not to mention they may refuse you all together. If they are busy (which I would guess they would be on that day), if you are late I wouldn't waste my time of even trying it.

And to be honest if you aren't checked in before your adr they CAN still refuse you. We had this happen at Ohana. Part of our party was going to be late, we were there but they wouldn't seat us until the whole party was there. They cancled our ressie and we had a huge fight with the manager to be seated...and the late party checked in right at adr time.

So as Nala said, I would try for another time. Wouldn't be good to start your vacation on a bad note.

I agree. Xmas eve will likely be extremely busy. And at this late date, not sure you could even get a later time at Narcoossee's.

The only way I see you getting to Narcoosse's at 7:30 is to find a way to get to WDW faster than DME--and/or perhaps checking in AFTER dinner.
