Narcoosee's Thanksgiving

We got back from WDW on Monday and were unfortunately very disappointed with our Thanksgiving dinner at Narcoosee's. The mussels appetizer were barely steamed (some of them were raw) and the clams were gritty. For the entrees, the filet mignon was pretty good, but the grouper was tough and the autumn risotto was horribly undercooked. Each course took a long time to arrive, and the entire dinner took over 2 hours.

This is our third Thanksgiving at Narcoosee's and we've had perfect dinners the previous 2 years. While the service was their usual wonderful, something seemed off.

Did anyone else experience this? Has something changed at Narcoosee's?

we went for the weekend and had our Thanksgiving dinner at the Yacht Club Galley. We had been about 5 years ago and it was very very good. So, we decided to not tempt fate and stick with what we knew. It definitely wasn't the same. Turkey was so dry, mashed potatoes weren't good, desserts nothing special. The ham, stuffing and green beans were good. Not horrible, but certainly nothing to write home about. Don't you hate it when you've been to a place multiple times and been totally pleased, then, you go and it's nothing like before? I hate to hear reports like this.

We ate there for my birthday when I was pregnant with my first child. I remember them saying they create their menu daily based on the fresh ingredients flown in. I did not enjoy our experience as I suffered morning sickness and everything on the menu was unappealing. I have been since afraid to try it again--but I have seen people rave about it on the boards.

I'm wondering that you just hit on a bad luck day...being a holiday--I'm not sure the "flown in fresh" theory could apply--but I'm not in the restaurant industry--and I don't know if they changed their practices in the 5 years since we had been.

Sorry that you didn't enjoy your experience.

In general--I find that restuarants anywhere that I enjoy on a special occasion for the first time--seem to lose their luster by the 2nd or 3rd time I go. In other words, I can't remember what made them so special or so good when I went the first special time. So perhaps this could be a case of that?
