Need recent reviews and opinions of Narcoosee's and Spoodles for dinner....any recommendations are appreciated!
Also, what are the DO NOT MISS things at the F&W festival this year?? We are headed down on Wednesday! Thanks!:goodvibes

We just ate at Narcoossee's about a month ago. I had the Surf and Turf which was excellent. My son had the Filet Mignon, he loved it and the potatoes. I ordered a special desert for my dd. At the F&W Festival had the Ribs from the US, the Pizza in Italy, Durban Spiced Chicken in S Africa and the Lamb Chop in Australia all were great. :goodvibes popcorn::

What would you like to know about the F & W festival? We just got back last night froma week at the festival and we had a wonderful time.
There are 25+ booths with native food, wine and beer samples. Each represents their native country. We were able to use our DDP snack credits for food samples. There is a list here, as well as at allearsnet.com of the food and beverage offerings.
We love the festival. We schedule our visits around it. This was our 5th festival.

My DH and I had dinner at Narcoossee's last week, and we really enjoyed it. It's a beautiful setting with nice views of the lagoon and Cinderella's castle. The food was good-- not really "foodie" food, more of a nice seafood dinner. I enjoyed the pear and endive salad, lobster and filet mignon (the sauce on the filet was yummy!), and finished with a delicious key lime creme brulee. I also ordered a Raspberry Mojito that tasted soooooooo good. My DH is a mussels fan, so he loved the mussels. He said his ahi tuna was also very good.

We had an ADR for 8:10, but were seated as soon as we arrived at 8:00. It was a MNSSHP night, so Hallowishes went off at 9:30. We took our coffee out to the porch with us, and watched the fireworks. We could hear all of the music and narration of Hallowishes on the porch with a nice, uncrowded view. This was probably the best part of our evening. Hallowishes was amazing!

My only suggestion is that, if you're driving there, spring for valet. DH parked our rental car himself and it took him forever to meet me at the restaurant. GF self-parking is really far from the main hotel in a dumpy looking parking lot across the street. :confused3

Have fun at F&W, too. We were there on a Saturday afternoon around 1, and then again at about the same time on Monday. What a difference! The lines for F&W booths were soooooo long on the weekend, but it was a ghost town on Monday. If at all possible, I'd try to hit F&W during the week for less lines.

Have a magical trip! :wizard:

thanks everyone for the opinions! We appreciate it!:goodvibes
As for F&W, we were wondering what people thought was the best and worst...dont want to waste money on something gross!:lmao:

I totally agree with kahluacream about the valet parking. It is a longgg darkkk walk to the self parking lot across the street. Food is to die for though!

We ate at Spoodles in September, really enjoyed our meal there! My son had lamb kabob appetizer and beef kabob entree, he really liked both! (He's a carnivore).

My husband and I both had the pork chop on bean cassolet. BIG CHOP! Lightly smoked, and I loved the cassolet. Its a seriously hearty dish.

The Mediterrean Dips appetizer is fun, if you like hummus and that kind of thing, several different dips, but with the table bread, its a lot of bread-type stuff.

The dessert sampler is nice, several of their desserts in little sizes, so if you don't like one, you're not completely out of luck, but we liked them all.

My son has requested a return to Spoodles, so he was impressed.

There's more details in my link below. Spoodles might not be for everybody (what restaurant is?) but we found it to our liking.

Enjoy your trip! :goodvibes

I agree with the previous review about Spoodles. We dined there one night when heavy rain resulted in the cancellation of another reservation. We were pleasantly surprised with the delicious Mediterranean flavors at Spoodles, and we were able to walk in at 8:00 and get a table.

If you like Sangria, spring for the pitcher. Not too big, not too small.
