Narcoosee's or Citricos????

We've never done signature places at Disney, but the kids are getting old enough that I think they can handle one. Which would you suggest?

We like well prepared food, though it does not have to be overly fancy. Which would be better for three kids (who do behave by the way!) and mom and dad, on a hot day in August?

Narcoosees is more child friendly with a little more lively atmosphere that might be more interesting for your children. Citricos is more adult, generally pretty quiet, they have wine pairings offered with their courses, etc. Citricos courses are going to be fancier both in the content and the display. I would consider it more "fine dining" whereas Narcoosees is more casual.

Also, Narcoosees does provide fireworks viewing from its location which your children would love if you make your ADR's to coincide with the fireworks. There's also the electric water pagaent that goes by that can be seen from Narcoosees. Citricos does not offer these views.

I love Citricos; it is one of my favorite places at WDW. I have taken my children there many times and the last time I was there, there were lots of kids and the dining room was pretty loud (not complaining, just pointing this out).

We went to Citrico's last August and loved it. I just called for my August ADRs this morning and ACK! Citrico's is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays! I wanted to go there on my birthday.
I booked Narcoosee's, but after looking at the menus and thnking about it I called back and moved some things around so we can go to Citrico's another night.
I have heard good things about Narcoosee's, I just think I like Citrico's better.

I have not been to Citricos so I cannot comment on that one. However, no question about it, Narcoossee's was our best meal of the trip.

We had our first night dinner at Narcoossee's (2 adult women and a 6yo boy). He declared his Mickey shaped pasta the best ever (sauce and cheese served in the "ears", very cute). I had the surf and turf(scallops instead of turf). Mom had grouper. YOAMD cheesecake is amazing in taste and presentation (mom makes cheesecake from scratch so she knows cheesecake). I was so full I had the kids banana split and share it with my nephew, fun and tasty, but it didn't get finished either.

We got to see the Electric Water parade from our seats; Mom and nephew went out to the deck for a closer view. Nephew was in awe and absolutely loved it. I went out to the deck to watch Wishes, music is piped into the deck and restaurant. Nephew isn't a big fan of fireworks, but even he eventually came out to watch Wishes.

We also got a couple of unplanned or expected surprises. I had listed that we were celebrating my nephew's 6th bday on this trip: Narcoossee's greeted him with a Happy Birthday and had a B-day button made out for him. Once we were seated and took a look at the menus they had personalized them for him with a "Happy 6th Birthday Zeke" message at the top. He (and we) were floored. He asked "How'd they do that?". It was great to be able to say "Disney magic baby" on his very first trip to Disney. Our Narcoossee's server, Dean? was absolutely wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble. By the way, I had a Mango smoothie as my drink. We too were there on a hot August day/night .

We had booked one more TS meal than we had credits for. We paid $10 for his pasta and extra tip; saved 2TS for him. We then paid OOP for Chef Mickey's breakfast for us adults and used his TS credit there instead. Narcoossee's was our cheapest kids's TS meal! It was a good value for us adults at 2TS.
