I am going there at the end of the month (IT IS FINALLY JUNE!!!) with ds, 12 Can he wear a nice polo type shirt, sneakers and dressy type shorts? or would he be better off with long (and hotter) khaki type pants? He wears a uniform & tie to school so he understands about appropriate dress at different times, and I want to further this lesson. But I don't want him complaining that he is too warm?? (thought to bring a small bag- like kind we will bring to the parks, with shorts to change into after dinner if we end up at a park). what do the very wise people on the disboards think??? :woohoo:

He will be fine with the shorts!

My husband generally wears nice dress shorts and a button up short sleeve shirt. There are folks who are very dressed up here too. We are more cruise casual here. We will be eating here in July and look forward to it.

DH is planning on wearing a polo with khaki shorts. They're not all grubby and ripped and all that, so I figured he should be fine.

Looks like they've eased up on the dress code a bit since we went. He should be fine with dress shorts and polo. Here's the policy direct from Disney:

Dress Code Guidelines:
Men: Khakis, slacks, jeans, dress shorts, collared shirts. Sport coats are optional.
Ladies: Capris, skirts, dresses, jeans, dress shorts.

Not permitted in dining room: Tank tops, swimwear, hats for gentleman, cut offs, or torn clothing. While T-shirts are now allowed, the policy remains that T-shirts with offensive language or graphics are not acceptable.

Hope you enjoy your meal at Narcoossee, we really enjoyed it and plan on going back in August.

Hows the food?? :confused3

The food is very good. The cheesecake there is delicious!

We have eaten here 5 times over the past couple of years and it is my favorite place to eat. We've tried the surf and turf and it's good, but I enjoy the filet the best. Everything I've ever had here has been great, and the service has always been outstanding. The deserts are great. We are eating at signature restraurants for our week visit in July, and I choose Narcoossees as the restraurant for our actual Anniversary dinner.

1) More than just a little bit.
2) WDW no longer enforces the Signature Restaurant Dress Code.
3) I have seen some real sloppy outfits and cruddy park outfits.
4) It is a shame to pay a lot for a meal, then have such dress.

My DH and BIL wore khaki shorts and polos, my Dad wore dress pants and a button down short sleeved shirt.

I did a cotton sundress, my sister and mom did skirts and nice tops.

DH and I are going to have our anniversary at Narcoosees in August and can't wait....our first time dining there.

Thanks for posting the dress code as I thought it was formal so DH will be happy to know he can wear dress shorts.

DH is on a low/no carb diet so I hope there are menu choices for him there.

Is there a good view of the fireworks?

He will be fine. My DH had on Nice casual shirt khaki's and white sneaks .
He look good. He was contfotable.

Thanks for asking this OP and for all the great responses.

We are eating here on our arrival night, which is also our anniversary, with our DS 14 and DS 12. Glad to know the khaki shorts/polo shirts I was planning on will be appropriate for them!

(And the food sounds yummy.....)
