Naples Italian restaurant - how is this place?

I have eaten at Naples and Via Napoli and I would really need to eat them side by side to tell the difference. I know people say that Via Napoli is much better, but I could honestly not tell. We loved them both. BTW...there are plenty of people that don't love VN also, but we I am not one. The whole family really likes the pizza here. Have not had bad service either. Another BTW....I believe the restaurant group Patina owns and operates both VN and Naples.

The pizza is identical to Via Napoli. They use the same ingredients and same oven. I can't speak to the other foods. Salads are also identical to Via Napoli. We have always had great service. Eaten there over a dozen times. We are locals and often go to DTD JUST to eat pizza there.

Naples is more like Via Napoli than it is Tutto Italia. In that it's a more casual atmosphere, with an emphasis on the pizzas, but it does also have a number of pasta and non-pizza entrees. I liked the pizzas I've had at Naples. As others have mentioned, they are similar to the ones at Via Napoli (in terms of style and cooking method), but they do not necessarily have the same menu items at both locations. I've found the non-pizza entree items at Via Napoli to be markedly better than the ones at Naples (e.g., mushy pasta at Naples), so I would stick to the pizza if you do go.

My dad keeps telling me we need to try this place- he really likes it. How are they with food allergies? In my case I'm fish and shellfish and I need to know that they understand and take proper precautions with food prep- clean utensils, clean cooking surface, not touching anchovies and then touching other toppings, etc. Anyone have any experience with them in that area?

We've gone with groups where more than one person had an allergy of some kind. We always note the dietary needs on our reservation. So far, we've never had a problem. But, as a disclaimer, none of the allergies are severe enough to require an epi pen. We've never asked for a chef to come out to speak with us (and that happens fairly regularly when we eat at TS places in the parks), but I don't see why you couldn't at least ask to speak with someone.

Thanks for the info. I'll probably give it a try then and see what we think.

This is why we are excited to try this restaurant. Our favorite restaurant in Epcot is VN and once we saw the menu for Naples, we were set on going :cloud9:.

I have one question though...whenever we dine at VN we always get a large pizza to split between the 4 of us and we ask for half pepperoni for myself and DD12 and half of whatever toppings DH and DD15 want at that time. Will Naples do this too, or are they strict about not splitting the toppings?

For a DTD Restaurant we like it. Is it the best Italian food, no. When we need a break from food on the go its our go to place. Pricey for the quality but I love sitting on their patio with a glass of wine and letting the kids eat a full meal. I think it's better then most of the DTD restaurants. Service is always a hit in miss but I imagine the turn around of employees in that area is great. We hit it up at least once or twice a trip.

They will be happy to split the toppings. We've done this several times when taking a pizza to go back to our room or to the concierge lounge at the GCH.
