We have just returned from the US and to stave off the podt holiday gloom are researching next years hols!!!
We stayed our 2nd week on Captiva this year which was wonderful, next year we are considering Naples. Does anyone have any knowledge of things to do in the area?

We have stayed in Naples twice, firstly at the Quality Inn and secondly at the brilliant Registry Resort.

It is an ideal location for a relaxing week away from Orlando.
However, it is very quiet there and there is not a lot to do, not ideal if you have children.

Certain parts of Naples are very exclusive, some of the homes are fabulous, guess overall it is a very upmarket town.

To be honest, easy for me to say because we have been there twice, but I would say a week is too much, 3/4 days would be about right - unless you just want to relax of course.

We're staying 4 nights in Naples at the Edgewater Beach Hotel at the end of our holiday and are hoping it is as Johnny says - relaxing and upmarket!

We stayed in Naples three years ago for our second week (after a hectic week at the parks!) It is a superb place to relax and unwind after a busy week.

:wave2:

It's a great place to go for a wind-down after the parks.

There are tons of things to do around the Naples area, or nothing to do if you really do just want to relax.

There's all the fab beaches . . . . the Everglades half an hour away . . . . the Naples Trolley Bus tour for 3 hours (you can get on and off) to show you the old Naples and some of the most beautiful properties around . . . . there's shopping . . . . there's mini-golf . . . . there's Sanibel/Captiva 2 hours up the road . . . and Ft Myers beach too . . . there are fascinating areas of natural beauty to go visit . . . there are boat trips for dolphin watching, shelling, picnicking, sunsets . . . . :sunny:

OK, so I'm a fan of this area:D

Any more info - give me a shout::yes::
