Naperville, IL on Good Morning America

This is a suburb of Chicago, and where we live. At our old house the mayor was our across the street neighbor. He is a nice guy, but not a typical "politician" in any way. When he was still a police officer, he was officer friendly and did all the school classroom visits.

Naperville frequently shows up on lists as best places to live, most of that I attribute to the mayor. Our town is super kid friendly.

A couple of years ago a professional politician launched a campaign asking the towns residents (most of whom are professionals who commute to Chicago) if they wanted a successful educated business person or officer friendly as their mayor. That year the mayor only received 94% of the vote. I can't remember how many times he has won election, at least 5.

I saw that clip on GMA....and loved the idea of the Christmas card with the people forming the word PEACE. Were you part of it?

I'm in Naperville too.....missed the GMA show tho. I knew about the gathering for the PEACE card, butwas dealing with my mom at rehab and admit it was too cold for my taste to go. It was fairly short notice on the announcement, so I think they ahd a decent turnout considering. Yeah, Mayor Pradel is pretty decent, he does love the toen and never misses anything, even the smallest of celebrations.

Howdy neighbor!! I lived there for almost 2 decades and it. I could (and often did) walk to the carillon from my house! What a cute little town.

I'm not a huge Pradel fan, but he seems pleasant enough and pretty involved.

Cress Creek...so you went to North? Were you a "Huskie"? We live a mile from Central but get sent to a new school in Aurora...all the way to Eola and Diehl road, it's nuts.

Yes - Huskie. I really wasn't *in* to school, however I can't remember where my keys are but can still recite this:

H - U- S - K- I - E - S...Huskies, Huskies are the best!

Man - your bussing out to the other school stinks!!! I don't know how they come up with the boundaries. The girl below in the picture at EPCOT, I've known since we worked together when we were 15 at Office World - right on Ogden and Royal St George (I think it's Office Max, now??) Anyways....

She lived in Brookdale, I lived in Cress Creek. We were a 15 minute walk from each others house....BUT, she went to Waubonsie! It took 1/2 hour, in morning traffic, to get to her school. It was silly. She was a mile or so from North!
