Napa Rose Chef's Counter - book before 60 days?

I am celebrating my 50th birthday at DLR in February and am hoping we can get the chef's counter at Napa Rose for my birthday dinner. I have read several posts where people booked more than 60 days out. Does anyone know if there is a hard date for NR when you can book? 75 days? 90 days? Has anyone been told they can't book because it's too early? (I am so that person that would book six months ahead and then call monthly to make sure they still had the reservation down...I know, I'm working on that.)

Thanks much!

For a celebration that is important to you or anyone for that matter, I recommend calling Napa Rose. Ask them how Chef's Counter reservations are booked.

I believe their policy is a little different than Disney Dining. Last October when I called to check, I was told they book two months out.
On August 1st, they opened the October calendar. So on August 1st, I could reserve any day in the month of October.
If it's the same, for a February reservation you would call December 1st

There is voice mail on their line.
Whenever I have called and left a message they have always returned my call.
Give a call and leave a message.

Is the chef's counter available every night of the week? or only certain nights?

We will be there for our first wedding anniversary and would love to make this our celebration dinner!

While I'm no expert....
I know they have two seating times. Call and see what the current time are.
Here's the number I called for our reservation (714) 300-7170

Enjoy your first anniversary!!

Very helpful! Thank you, Gemmo!!!

Geemo, or anyone who has been before, did it make a difference which side of the counter you were on? We'll have 4 in our party so I would prefer not to have the dessert counter unless that is the only space available. Just wondered if the views were discernibly different depending on which side you sit on?

We have sat at both sides and we enjoyed both. We chatted with all the chefs and even got a bonus dessert the time we sat at that side.

We sat in between the entree prep (right in front of us) and dessert section (to our right). I thought they were great seats.

Do leave a message. I called after 5, and they didn't answer, but I left a msg. I think any time they're "open" they may be too busy for calls. We booked right at the 60 day mark and had no problem getting seats (for June). Vs. Chef's Table at V&A where I felt very lucky to get a reservation on the last day of our trip (using the 180 days +10, in September which is usually a low time). They seat something like 14 people at Napa Rose vs up to 10 at V&A, but at V&A, it's only one party, which made it much harder to book.

Have a great 50th!

Thanks to the advice on this forum, I was able to book well before 60 days. They book for an entire month 60 days before the first of the month. Our dinner day was September 19th. We were able to book 60 days before September 1st, no problem. Can't wait! :disrocks:

Yes, and definitely leave a detailed message with date, seating, and number in your party. They were able to book me on that alone and didn't need me to call them back; they just left me a voicemail saying I was all set!

I'm pretty sure it's nightly. I'm doing it on a Tuesday night.

Great information, thank you!! The date I am hoping to book is also a Tuesday.

I've been waiting to call and just booked the Chef's Counter for 2 for November 2nd. I am very excited--I've been wanting to do this for years. Thanks Disboards for all the great information about seating and timing. When I spoke to them today, I found out that the second seating is now at 8:00 not 8:30. Not sure if this is a permanent change or not.

I've only had the right of the main counters, but I liked this one. You had a commanding view of everything going on. Can't wait for my next dining experience there, but it will likely just be the lounge again.

FYI--just got a call back for 11/1---the times are 5:00pm and 8:00pm now.
Hmmm, I wonder when this change is effective. I should probably give them a call to confirm it's still 5:30 for September. Thanks for the info, all.
