Has anyone here been to Namibia? Did you go there on holiday? With children?
What did you do, where did you stay etc.???
I have a friend who has been there a couple of times and everytime I see her photos I want to go sooo badly.

I've never been there but it is high on my list of places I'd love to see someday! I've heard it is just beautiful. Denmark first though! :goodvibes

That´s great. What places are you going to visit in Denmark? I lived in Denmark for 6 years. It´s a great country.

It's high up on my list too! We were in Botswana several years ago and people kept saying...Namibia is the place to go. We thought Botswana was pretty amazing.

We would definately like to visit Botswana as well, at another time though. We "adopted" a little girl in Botswana a couple of years ago through SOS. Would love to meet her some day and visit the orphanage she lives in.

I envy anybody who has lived in Denmark! Iceland too! Wow,you have lived in some great places! :goodvibes

I'm staying in Farum (outside of Københaven) for part of the time and I'm staying in Svendborg for a week. So I hope to see stuff around those two areas. I've dreamed of going to Denmark all my life but the funny thing is, I'm going more to visit friends than to do the "tourist" thing. I mean, I definitely want to see stuff while I'm there, but I met two really sweet women online...one 2½ yeras ago and the other 18 months ago. So this trip is mostly about meeting them and getting to know them. I plan to go back in July when the weather is better so I can see more of Denmark!

I am insanely excited to finally be going! I've been studying the language for the last two years though I'm not doing very great. I can read Danish pretty well...oh but speaking it and writing it are so difficult for me!

Are there any places you would suggest that a newcomer "must" see?

Too bad you won´t be there til after x-mas. The decorations are so pretty and the christmas market in Tivoli (www.tivoli.dk) is wonderful. Must see´s in Copenhagen include Stroget (written with a danish "oe"), the old shopping street downtown, ending in Nyhavn (New harbour, which actually is quite old. The pubs there have been operating for almost 300 years). A short boatsail around the canals (you can take the boat at Nyhavn, don´t need reservations) is a great way to see the new operahouse, the little mermaid and the palace. Just be prepared for it to be veeeery cold. Taking a walk around the palace grounds (Amalienborg) and visiting the museum there can also be a lot of fun. Great museums include www.arken.dk and www.louisiana.dk.

Don´t hesitate to ask here or in a pm if you have any questions :)
