Names on contracts

My mom recently had a resale offer accepted for the same resort/UY as I have. Ideally we would like to be able to combine the contracts into the same account/usage to pool the points. Is there a way to do this if her name is not on the my original contract? If my name is on both would Disney let us combine, or do the names need to match exactly?

If not, how hard is to go about whatever needs to be done to fix this? Would I just need to have my deed updated to include her name?

Both contracts need to have the exact same names to be in the same membership.

A deed update to include her costs like $400-$500 with a title company. Can be done by the owner much cheaper with some research and patience.

Really don’t know how is the process after that to see both contracts under the same membership. Don’t know if it happens automatically.

To be in the same membership, the contracts must be titled the same. So she needs to add you as an owner to the contract she’s buying now, and you need to add her to the contract you already own.

She should be able to include you as an owner from the beginning, if she’s just at the start of the process.

You would add her to your contact the same as some owners add their adult children. The thread linked below will give you an idea of the process. You can do it yourself, or you can have a title company do it for you for a fee. Maybe the title company handling your mother’s purchase could do it.

While it would take an additional step, if the goal is to have more points to book at once, you could transfer your points to the other contract. This would avoid the need to pay to have the contracts updated

Good info above. Another option is to simply agree to book reservations separately and then have MS link them. For example, one owner books days 1 through 3 of a vacation and the other owner books days 4 through 7. Of course they need to book the same resort, room type and view for this to work.

Wondering if I add my parents to our current contact with a Florida’s address would give them the ability to get a Florida annual pass? Any ideas?

I don't think so. Florida passes have nothing to do with DVC contracts. It just matters what their address is on their drivers license, passport, etc.

Getting a Florida resident ticket or annual pass requires an ID with a Florida address, such as a driver's license, or other proof of residency, such as a mortgage statement or utility bill. A deed is specifically listed as not sufficient proof of residency:

I think that would allow them to get an AP with the DVC discount.

If your contract makes you eligible for membership extras…it’s direct or resale bought before 2016,,,then they’d be able to get the Sorcerer Pass.

If not, their home address is what matters for FL passes, not owning DVC.
