Names listed on reservation for stay at Pop

My brother is going to be staying at Pop when we go in December. Originally, his now ex-g/f and her son were going to be going but now that she's now an ex she's not going and 2 of his friends are going to go with him. Is it required that he call to change the names listed on the reservation or does it not matter? TIA for your help!!!

I would call disney and change the names. They will need room keys.

If originally the reservation was for 2 adults and one child and now it is for 3 adults,there will be a surcharge for the third adult in the room.
