Names for the twins

We've got some time still, but are starting to think of them.

A couple of things to add. I have a niece, Emily, and my other sister has a dog named Emma. I'm also a bit afraid that the name will be too popular, especially since Rachel on Friends named her baby Emma. We've always liked the name, but no so sure with that.

I'm having a hard time with boys names. Dh likes Andrew and Cameron. I guess I lean a little more towards Andrew, but not totally sure.

We both like the name Katie/Katharine a lot. But is it weird to pair Andrew (most likely called Drew by the way) and Katie? Does it really matter?

I'm partial to Drew, since that is my youngest son's name, and I like Katie/Katherine best for a girl.

I think Katie and Drew sounds great. I'm not a fan of rhyming names or names that start with the same letter for siblings/twins, but that is just my preference..

I voted for Cameron & Katie for the obvious, LOL! Im Katie and my DS is Cameron.
Do you like Cameron Andrew, that way you could have both names? I found A names sound good with Cameron. We were originally going with Cameron Alexander, but ended up with Cameron Austin.
Even though my kids are Cameron & Colton I dont think they necessarily have to start withthe same sound. Those just happened to be 2 names I liked and they did have a nice ring to them, I thought.

I think Katie and Drew sound great! Since they're going to be twins, I'd pick names that sound nothing alike so when you call one of them, it's clear which name you're saying.

I like Katie and Drew, too. Our newest nephew (9/10/02) is named Drew, full name Andrew after his Dad.

Quick question...do you know for sure that you are having fraternal boy/girl twins? Because you can have fraternal twins that are both girls or both boys? I have cousins that are fraternal boy twins. If the ultrasound didn't rule it out, you might be having identicals.

I know this isn't your list, but when my DD was thought to be twins, we were going to name them this way:

Boy/Girl: Aidan Michael and Alannah Rose
Boys: Sean Christian and Christian Thomas
Girls: Caitlin Elizabeth and Alannah Rose

I do like Katie and Drew!

A friend of mine has a son named Cameron. They call him Cam or Cammy all the time.

I don't like Katie (I know too many of them) but I think the name Karen is good

I don't know any Emma's.

Since my first choices weren't available Jose and Hose B (old firefighter's joke), I went with Cam and Katie. So did DW. How about Nomar and Mia?

As someone has already suggested, if you like both names why not go with one like Katherin(my pick) and add Emma as her middle name or vice versa. Same goes with the boys name. I know quiet a few Emma's (both pre/post Rachel) but around here Katherin isn't as popular. Andrew was my top pick for the boy name because of the nickname

thanks everyone for your picks! Its funny how seeing the polls really makes me feel one way or another.

I should add that the middle names are already taken, so they won't be adding the 2 together, although that is a great idea.

Still not totally sure what we're going to do. Heck, in a month you might see a poll with totally different names on them!

Its funny, we didn't have nearly the problem choosing my son's name (Daniel) that we have with these babies. But if I'm lucky I have till April to decide.

Since the names Sophia and Luke were not choices I would have to go with Cameron and Katie.

I say Drew and Katy....I wanted to name my daughter Katherine, but that name was taken by my niece..so I went with Kaitlyn Marie and call her Katy.....A little different on the spelling.

funny you should menion Sophie! I just love the name, but it really doesn't go with our last name.

And as for Luke, we're teasing people right now and calling them Luke and Laura. LOL! Or Ethel and Fred, or Nick and Nora.
