Name your favorite pigeon forge area tourist trap

The National Park is FREE!

Go to Wonderworks in the morning.. then go do other stuff, back to wonderworks (passes are good all day) later.

You can take the trolley, but if you have a car, it is much, much faster. Long lines of traffic follow the trolleys!

For a local place to eat - big portions, good food, cheap - Try Gondolier Italian. Turn left at Main Street/Dolly Parton Parkway/411 - about 4 miles down on the left. The A&W (fast food) on the same street, but on the right, is also locally owned and operated. They have the best, fresh root beer you will ever try! The owner, David O'Shields, is generally working inside. He really supports the community. If you like Thai food, Thai Basil is very close to the Wilderness - in the shopping center with Staples. We just ate there :) Super yummy and a locally owned and operated restaurant.

Yeah, Wal Mart is crazy...not so bad in the mornings. Kroger is very close to you and a nice grocery store.

Also if you have a hankering for a pedi, Diva nails is in the shopping center with Staples. Best place in town! Ask for Jollie!

Ole Smokey Moonshine

Another vote for Ole Smokey Mtn Moonshine.. Have moonshine tastings as well (of course that's an adults attraction) :drinking1

We've been a couple of times.. There's Dollywood as well, they have a waterpark associated with it as well, but the times we've been, it's only open some days during the week.

There is a lift that takes you to an overlook for a fee. Nice view of Gatlinburg, and also a tram to take you up the mountain to Ober Gatlinburg (ski resort; that has some small attractions during the summer).

And if you like Pancakes, there are NUMEROUS Pancake Houses.. Never seen so many in one place in my life..

My kids LOVED the deer farm. They had so many animals. My kids also loved Majiquest. It's a cool building where they have interactive games that require wands to cast spells and fight enemies.

Go over to Gatlinberg, it is Beautiful, unless you do not have a car. Drive up to Cade's Cove and walk up the tower. You may see seem hikers hiking the Appalachian Trail. You will not have to spend any money. I think The Smokey Mountain National Park ticket is 12-14, but well worth the price.

Tourist traps type places, I think the statue of Dolly Parton in front of the Court house is pretty cool. I like tourist stores and finding the diamond in the gem that sells authentic crafts from locals.

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is FREE!!!
