name the play

Here's another. Name play and character...

Since what I am to say must be but that
Which contradicts my accusation
And the testimony on my part
None other than what comes from myself,
It shall scarce boot me to say, not guilty.
Mine integrity being counted falsehood
Shall, as I express it, be so received.
But thus!
If powers divine behold human action, as they do
I doubt not innocence shall make fair accusation blush
And tyranny tremble at patience.

I thought we already did Hamlet.

I knew this line was not from Dicky III. This was my attempt to use iambic pentameter to show Briar Rose I understood her point.

Hermione from "A Winter's Tale."

No controversy from me, I firmly believe that Richard II is Shakespeare's best history play.
Nope, it's obviously Henry IV Part 1. After all, it's got Falstaff.

No wonder I couldn't place it. That's one I haven't read or seen. Maybe next time it plays at Ashland.
The production of Richard III I saw at Ashland a number of years ago made me fall in love with that play, and I don't think I would have enjoyed it nearly so much had I not seen it in Ashland. Now it may be my favorite Shakespeare.

My favorite Shakespeare play:
The quality of mercy is not strained
it droppeth, as the gentle rain from heaven upon the place beneath
it is twice blessed; it blesseth him that gives and him that takes.

My favorite of his histories is Henry V, though.

I've never been fond of Merchant of Venice -- though I do like Portia.

thanks for moving this, Nikole!

A few of my friends and I did a book report on it back in 6th or 7th grade and I got to play Portia.

I see that the Mods move this thread.
