Name Painting from Kiosk (add yours too!!)

hey leshaface - i loved reading your TRs about your disney cruise & congratulations!!

i've seen one with villains -- it had red queen (ie queen of hearts from alice), hook & crocodile, maleficent etc. it was fabulous but not sure if it was done in park or at the DTD store. will definitely be seeking a villains version when we are there in dec this year, as the villains are my favourite

There are other threads on here that have some other name examples but for the life of me I can't find all of them grr! I know I found at least another two and in one of the treads there was a villians example and the Dis-er mentioned that the Villians are only avaliable during Halloween time.

Heres the one thread I could find with one example on the first page (including a Lion King letter): http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1880005&highlight=name+art

Melissa- did you get yours done in Downtown Disney? Your sign is GORGEOUS. That's the first Jasmine I've seen too!! Soooo cool!

No, mine is from the stand across from the Matterhorn. The lady asked me what I wanted, as far as theme or characters, and I said Ariel and Jasmine right away. She said she could make it princess themed and that was fine with me. I am a huge princess lover and this was gorgeous! It may not be able to be seen in the pictures, but the entire thing is glittery too.

Here's the thread with the villian one. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2654245&highlight=name+art

It's sooo cute! I also love the sound of the Tiki Birds as a letter.

I had never paid any attention to these until Mouse Adventure last weekend. They had a custom one made that was part of a quest. It was then raffled off at the end.

I think I'm going to have to expand the souvenir budget for our trip in July! :rolleyes1

Oh! I love the one with the villains! I adore the Disney villains I bought the villains zip up hoody at WDW in Feb and my checkbook and checks have the female villains. I think I really need that.

I am literally planning a trip to disneyland this halloween ONLY to get a villians name sign--lol! since no one is posting pics of them, I'll be sure to go crazy and post a ton when I come back.

I saw these on here awhile back and so I had my daughters' done this past trip and I must say for what I paid I was a little dissapointed. All of the ones I saw plus the examples were so pretty and colorful and then we got ours and they all looked the same color and not very bright. It was like the forgot to highlight them or something. My girls love them but for almost 200 bucks I was hoping they would be better.

I was hoping to either get my name or our last name done some time but I think I may try downtown disney next time.

I've heard that the ones done at Downtown Disney are better than the ones in the park. My name sign came from the kiosk inside the park, and it looks very rushed compared to the one we just had done (will post tomorrow) which was from the Downtown Disney kiosk.

I am planning on getting one of these in less than 2 weeks. The only problem is my last name has 13 letters (I want my whole last name for my kindergarten classroom) and I don't want it to looked "rushed" expecially since it's a longer name. Does anyone else think that the downtown disney ones are better? Kinda wanted to actually get it inside DL, but not if the DD ones are better.

Also, can any of you tell me what I will be paying for a name with 13 letters???

Thanks!

I totally forgot that we had one of these done in June at DTD when we were at DL. I LOVE It, but it sure was fun to get home! I put it someplace safe till we got home, and forgot about it, but I need to get it framed. I will see if I can post a pic.
Honestly, I cannot imagine them having paper large enough for 13 letters.
The guy who did ours was fantastic, we just stopped to look, and he did a demo with my daughters name, with Rapunzel. It was fantastic, but we walked around to think for a bit. We decided to do the family name, and when we ordered it, we asked if he could cut us a deal on the price of her name (that was just added to his demo pile to show people), since we ordered the bigger one, and he just handed it to her for free! So we actually came home with two.

i love the disney villains. i love them more than the 'regular' characters, and i wish that i could get my name done in the villains, but we just cannot make a september/october trip work with our other commitments...

maybe i'll have to arrange for us to go solo one year around this time :)

wow! 13 letters! your sign will be awesome!! Mine was 9 letters and cost me somewhere around $50. My name was done by the kiosk inside the park.

I loved it when I first got it, but after seeing so many other signs, I know that mine was not well done. Next time, I'll definitely make sure to tell the artist not to do multiple "castle" fill-ins. That bugs me the most.

This is the sign that my bf had done for his daughter. I love it. The downtown disney kiosk artists did it. It is a HUGEEEEE improvement in quality.

I had this done during our trip to DL in early Oct/11. It was done at the kiosk beside the Matterhorn's entrance. I gave him complete artistic freedom to do as he pleased so long as the first letter was a witch. I loved the end result, and have it framed above my computer. It cost me $56 for it, and is one of my most treasured souvies from our trips to the mouse.
