I REALLY need to find the name of one of the DVC guides that was on the Magic for our 7 day cruise in Sept. 09. He was one of the senior guides that helped to do the presentations on board. He did them along with a petite lady of Hawiian decent. They both seemed to be in their 50's.

We referred a family that ended up purchasing on board. We stopped at the DVC desk on our last day and this guide took our name and member number so we would be sure and get the referral credit. Nothing has ever posted and our regular guide told us we would need to get the name of the guide on board so they can look up this sale. Anyone have any ideas?:confused3

If you Guide can't find out who was scheduled to work that day, I don't know how you can, unless you just get Lucky.

Well, there were only two guides on the ship that week. So being "scheduled" to work that day isn't the issue. I am hoping that someone will recall the gentlemans name that works DVC on the Magic.

From what I understand, there are specific guides that work the the cruise ships and they either work the Magic or the Wonder, they don't bounce back and forth.

Could it be Dave Kreutzer???? He is our guide and he is a Sr. person in DVC. He goes on a lot of the cruises. He is pretty high up the chain. I have a picture of him with my kids when we first bought our points. Let me know and I can send it to you.

Dave Kreutzer is my DVC guide as well. He is great, but does not always work on the Disney ships. There is a team of DVC guides who rotate working on the 2 ships. They may only work one week a month on the ship and the rest of the month be back at the Saratoga Springs Preview Center.

Our guide is Roland Lammers. We bought on the Wonder a couple of years ago and that's where he was. Not sure if he's ever been on the Magic.

When we purchased from him in Jan. 07...he did a lot of cruising. Then he did the CA and Chicago stuff and he did the stuff over at the CR this past summer too.

Got your email. Thanks, but not our guy.:sad2:

This gentleman was in his late 50's or early 60's, caucasion, and about 6'-6'2". Had a very car salesman like feel to him.....hook, line and sinker kinda a guy. :scared:

If you haven't already I would ask your regular guide this same question. He/she should be able to see an old schedule and can see who was on the cruise that week. I don't think it was Dave Kreutzer as he is in his late thirties I believe. I wish the best of luck to you in your search.

Do you have a picture of him by chance?

Our guide is Jim McCoy. He is great and we have never had a problem. When he returned my call earlier this week he told me there was no way to know who it was. I don't want to make anyone mad, but should I press him to find out who it was by the schedule? There were only a total of 4 DVC Castmembers on our cruise. Two young CM's who were more there to provide support to the two older CM's that seemed to be running everything. I don't want to be pushy, but I really want my referral.
We spent a lot of time with this couple going over all things DVC, and while we totally enjoy doing this, I know for a fact that they gave our name as the referral. I know its partially my fault for not remembering the couples last name, but hey, we were on our anniversary cruise and I had other things on my mind.:lovestruc

I think I would call and speak to one of the managers. Jim McCoy simply might not have the time to do the research but a manager should have more access to that information and might be able to find it quicker. It might be difficult to get the referral if you don't figure out for a while and more time passes. The sooner you can get the name the better chance you have of getting the referral in my opinion.

Congrats on your anniversary.

I think you need to have the people you referred call and reiterate that they used you as a referral. There is always the possibility that they may have had some contact with DVC in prior years on their own, which would negate your being able to "refer" them.

Plus, have you checked to see if you reside in a state that allows referrals? Not all of them do, and some others have stipulations such as IL where I live. Good luck.

This was the case when I bought in. I had called and requested an info packet 3-4 years before I purchased. The day I purchased a DVC friend was with me and we both wanted the friend to get the referral if possible. DVC was able to check me out right at the sales center and tell us that I 'already had a guide' who no longer worked for DVC but I would be assigned a new one. They definitely keep your name on file if any interest is expressed as a result of their advertising.

I was wondering if you ever found out the name of the guide and received credit for your referral.

Still working on it. I think I am going to call tomorrow and go the manager route. It shouldn't be that difficult to figure out which CM's were on the 9/12/09 sailing of the Magic. For that matter, I would be shocked if there wasn't a way to look up contracts that were purchased on a particular sailing. They have to track that stuff somehow right?

Well, I finally got someone thru the Member phone # that would help me. I have no idea what department they are from because I was transferred about 7 times, no joke.
She took down all the information that I had regarding this whole issue. She said that they could open a "referral inquiry" and try to find out for me. After 10 days she called me to let me know that without the potential members last name they would not be able to do anything about the referral.:sad1: She said that they had found that there was a "Jason" from "Georgia" who had bought into Animal Kingdom on the 9/12/2009 7 night Eastern Carribbean cruise, but without us being able to provide the last name of the person they could not give us credit for the referral. :sad2:
SO, lesson learned. Always make sure that you know the first AND LAST name of the person you are referring and that they have yours. AND if you are referring someone on a cruise check about your referral BEFORE you disembark!;)
