Thank god....I dont want to play my ride times months before I go on a trip thats a bit too much

Nothing changes at DLR except the names.

For WDW it's 7 days advanced booking. We do both coasts and the vibe is very different. I'm glad nothing changes for DLR and very much support the change for WDW. Day of booking for WDW just does. Not. Work.

I'm quietly happy about this. I liked FP+ at WDW and MaxPass at DLR - they served different purposes. I tend to wing it more at DLR, and MaxPass/G+ was/is great for that - losing the ability to pre-plan at WDW felt like a major downgrade.

Can we all make a collective sigh here? :rolleyes2 "multi pass" except that it doesn't include the "single pass." :headache:

I hated FP+ at WDW, so at least they're not trying to force you to figure out what you want to do 6 months in advance, just 7 days in advance. 🤦‍♀️

I understand at DL you can't book a Genie+ until you enter the park. So now they are changing the name to Lightening Lane Multi Pass does that mean when you enter the park you can book 3 LL's for your family? If not then I consider it false advertising especially when the other one will be called LL Single Pass.

Interestingly we arrive at DLH on 7/23 and our first park day is 7/24 the first day this service goes into effect.

Nothing about the actual service is changing at DLR, only at WDW. So, no, you can't book 3 LLs at a time.

It's not false advertising if you consider that by "Multi" it means that purchasing the Multi Pass entitles you to lightning lanes for multiple rides, and by "Single" it means, the price of a Single Pass is for one single ride. Has nothing to do with how many LLs you can or can't book at a time.

I agree with you about the meaning but then don't call it "Multi" at Disneyland, because obviously the "Multi" Pass at WDW allows you to book multiple rides at one time up to 3. So clearly the meaning of the name causes confusion. It was called Genie+ at both resorts and for the rides it worked the same for both only allowing 1 booking at a time.

I'm not trying to start anything here, because we went to DLR from Rhode Island last year and fell in love with it more so than WDW, but when we booked this trip it was before Pooh and HM were announced as closed and now with this change in the Genie+ I'm not sure it's worth the extra effort.

If I understand it, once you book the initial 3 at WDW, then you can only book one at a time after you use one of those. So it is only one opportunity to book 3 at a time there.

I think LLs generally work MUCH better at DLR than WDW, so I think you will have a great trip!!

Oh we know we'll have a great trip, but I'd rather have 3 rides booked to begin than 1, but that's just me.

We absolutely love DLR. Like I said I'm not trying to cause a problem but just thought the name made it confusing.

Unfortunately, I think it's confusing either way. Genie+, Lightning Lanes and Individual Lightning Lanes were confusing to a lot of visitors. So now in order to change it to supposedly make it less confusing... it's equally or more confusing. Oh, Disney.

It would probably be less confusing if the service worked exactly the same on both coasts, but WDW and DLR have very different needs and the changes probably will function great for WDW visitors. But, as DLR is much more of a locals park, it requires different needs.

I really don't know if having two different services, one for DLR and one for WDW, with two different names would be better or worse at this point. It sort of just... is what it is. And we gotta learn to roll with it again and again.

While I do think that the new names are less confusing and I like them better, I think it would be great if they had unique names at each resort. Since they do function differently that would make it even less confusing and keep people from expecting it to be the same. Even I had trouble keeping the nuances straight, and I'm pretty plugged in to it all. I can't even imagine if you're not!

LL at DL still need to be booked that day once you are in the park, right? OR is that changing now?

I think it is good at WDW. My DD went there a lot while she was at UCF and that would have been a huge help for her. I just miss the old Maxpass at DL.

DLR just runs more compact and intense as all the rides are concentrated into a very small area (DLR is smaller than MK alone) yet contains x3 E-ticket level rides.

Also, the number of day-of decisions going to DLR is much higher than probably all 4 parks in WDW combined.
