Has anyone heard of this?

I'm trying to determine if this website is LEGITIMATE before plugging in all my personal info.

Supposedly for $29.95 they will change your name on your SS #, passport, drivers license, etc.

The website LOOKS legit -- but i'm so paranoid about identity theft!

thanks!

:)

Ewwwww. I don't know, that would make me leary as well. I would probably just forgo the service and go to the WONDERFUL Social Security office! :rotfl:

Unless, you hear it is legit, i wouldn't do it, if it were me. Just my .02!

I wouldnt do that at any cost. I do not see how it could be legitimate.... you have to show ID at the social security office, and at the DMV-- how could you prove you are who you are on the internt?? Couldnt anyone give out someones social and name and get stuff changed??

I just wouldnt....

also- i wuold never put your social on the internet.... the internet is way too public-- hackers everywhere.. Theres too much identity theft...

Nope, I wouldn't do it!!!! It is very easy to get your name changed. DF adopted my daughter (sparx here on the dis) last January, and I went ahead and changed my name to his. All I had to do was take the court order to the dmv, ss office, etc.. and it was very simple.

There's no way I would use that site. It's really not that hard to change that stuff yourself, and then you know it has actually been done.

When I changed my name, I was pleasantly surprised to find that almost everything (DMV, Social Security, etc.) could be done by mail! I just had to send them a certified copy of my marriage license and a signed letter requesting the change.

This was in California in 2000, so YMMV, but it's worth making a call to them first. It saved me from having to wait in a lot of lines!

Hi there... I looked at that site. It doesn't actually change your info for you... they just give you the right forms for your state and you still have to go do it yourself. I changed my SS card and license in one day. It was easy. As easy as any trip to the DMV in NJ can be.... :lmao:

To be safe, go to the SS office yourself to get your name changed.

Hi. This is Danielle. I am the founder of MissNowMrs.com. I created this service after experienceing my own married name-change frustrations. The service and company are completely legitimate and save the average bride 13 hours of form research, completion, and filing mishaps. MissNowMrs.com is a member of the Better Business Bureau, HackerSafe, and VeriSign. All of these associations do significant research on a company before allowing them to join. If you are still concerned about giving out personal information such as your social security number you can skip any question on the site and write in the answer when you print your forms. Hopefully this post helps you and other brides with your name-change decisions. :goodvibes

thank you for clearing that up.....we dont mean to be harsh, its just with all the phishing & id theft going on ...one can never be to careful.

Thanks again:)

speaking of which, i went to the social security office today! what fun! its really not too hard to get it all done, pace yourself and try not to do it all in one day!

In MI it wasn't hard at all, it was a quick stop at the secretary of state to change the license, and THEN to the social security office...and both offices gave me the correct forms, I just had to have my old ID and my marriage license :) Took me one afternoon total. I'm sorry but I wouldn't pay someone to tell me what to do, look up your state regulations regarding changing your name on your license, and then look up the nearest social security office...(do this online)....it's really not that hard.

Like everyone else said it's not hard to do so why not do it the traditional way? And although the founder assures you of it's legit features I would venture to say the THIRTEEN hours it claims to save are over exaggerated.
