Name Change on Air

Has anyone ever had to change a last name on an airline ticket before? Our adoption will be final before we leave and I already bought my tickets and used the baby's birth last name.

I do not want any issues at the airport with them thinking I am stealing a baby!

I don't think you will need to change the name on the ticket for the infant. If you are a child, they don't ask for ID. They just asked my son what his name was. Since it is a baby, they really tell them their name. I wouldn't worry to much about it.

If in doubt, give the airline a call and see what they say. Congrats on the adoption!

I recommend you take a copy of your adoption certificate with you. One of my children is adopted and I always carry his adoption certificate with us when I travel just in case someone challenges us.
