Name change issues at check in?

hi all!

We head down for our stay at BWV on Sunday.

Just got married this year and did the hyphenated thing with my last name. All my ID docs are updated except my DVC card.

Wondering if this will be an issue. Since I hyphenated, my new name is just added to the end of my old last name.

I don't know why I didn't even think of this. Anyone else have a similar experience? Should I take a photocopy of our marriage certificate just in case?

I don't think you'll be able to change it as listed on the reservation at check in but you really shouldn't need to. I'd talk to DVC Member Admin about changing it on the reservation. I don't think I'd pay to change it if that's the only change. IIRC they can change it administratively with formal documentation.

Are you worried about checking in or about your dvc card?

If checkin, I doubt they'll care, but assuming your spouse has the same name as before just have your spouse show ID at checkin instead of you.

As for the card, I bet they figure it out.

I was initially thinking about check-in, but I guess it might not matter for that so much.
More for using my Membership card during the trip, now that I think about it.

When I got married 2 years ago there was some confusion about my contracts/name. After I sent DVC my documents I was able to get a temporary digital card immediately and they sent a new card out a few weeks later. Some of my reservations were under one name and then another. The CM's were great about fixing it and helping me. Everyone understood. I don't think you'll have a problem.
