Name 3 differences from your childhood home to your current home

built in microwave
built in dishwasher
laundry room (vs. area in garage where washer/dryer sat).

so many minor things most take for granted vs. what existed in the '60's.

From a 5th floor walk up to a building with 4 elevators
Sharing a closet with elder sister to living with 2 walk-ins
We had a broom closet growing up but had to carve one out in this residence.

We have a finished basement in my current house. My childhood home had a creepy basement.
My bedroom is much bigger and I'm not sharing it with an annoying little sister.
We have a nice backyard with a lawn. In South Philly the yard was cement and just big enough for the garbage cans.

So many differences. I grew up in Southern California and now live in Ohio. The house I grew up in is 70 years younger than my home.

My house is much smaller than my childhood home with less bathrooms.
My kitchen is small and less modern than the kitchen I had growing up, of course my appliances are newer but they weren't when we bought this house.
I don't have a pool or a hot tub, I miss those things but a pool doesn't make sense here. We are getting our electric updated in a few weeks and I will be getting a hot tub soon. Yay!

1) We had our own domestic water well. And this wasn't a farm, it was a subdivision within a mile of the city limits. There is no water district even still, and residents have told the county to stop trying to bring in "city water". However, the county has said they won't put in fire hydrants.

2) No side walks. Residents have told the county to stop trying to put in sidewalks.

3) No street lights. Residents have told the county to stop trying to put in street lights.

Ranch home with no basements vs 2 story with a basement
One bathroom , now have 2 full & a half.
No garage, now have a 2 car garage

show of hands-who had an incinerator in their childhood backyard? very common when i was growing up.

Fewer Doors, childhood home kitchen had a door, hall had a door each end, two front doors for some reason?
Attached garage now
Second Fridge/Freezer in garage now, old home had the big coffin freezer in utility room
