MYW Tickets Question

For our package this summer, we booked the MYW with just one-day base tickets. We have APs (but the pkg. deal was better this time around.) and so don't need to use the one-day tickets. BUT, we are bringing my sister along (who is 16) and are paying for her trip. I know she has one ticket of our package entitled to her, but wondered how the remainder of the tickets work? I asked a CM if the tickets were paper ones that we get in hand, and they were not sure if we got those or if the tickets are "coded" onto our keys? My bottom line question is...can she use ALL of the tickets that we are paying for? Or are the other tickets null and void for her? We are there for 10 days and I had planned on buying her an AP, but if she has access to 5 one-day tickets, I would just buy another park hopper for the rest.

Also, we plan to go to Typhoon Lagoon for 1 day....is it best to buy those tickets ahead of time or just the day of?

Thanks AGAIN!

Hmmmm... that's a good question. Are they still handing out room keys that have the reserver's name printed on them. If so, I don't see why she couldn't use everyone's room key to get into the park. But, if they're now printing individual names I can see her not being allowed to do that. Maybe someone else will chime in with a definitive answer...

I do not have a definite answer
but if you call I am sure they will answer your question
Disney was never worried about people in the same family sharing a ticket (in the past) but since so maney people were selling thier used tickets................
I would have to say she would be able to as far as i know they are only using the finger codes for multi day passes so who is to say who belongs to wht room card as they all have the same name as the credit card you use at check in. :bounce:

From what I've heard, the keys are encoded on the room key AND they are using Biometric information (The measurements of your first two finger bones) for identification making the tickets truly NON TRANSFERABLE.

Yes, I have called to ask the question, but 2 different CMs have not been able to answer the question, stating that I would have to wait and see at check-in. However, I am a type A planning personality :rotfl2: and waiting until check in won't work for me, LOL.

Unused tickets have no biometric informaion on them. At first usage, the finger measurements are recorded. So your sister will be the first user on each of those tickets.

Normally, unused tickets are transferable.

If you have any thought of a future very short trip (three or fewer days) it is undesirable to use those one day tickets for a five day trip and more undesirable to use them for the first 5 days and buy a 2 day ticket for the rest of a 7 day vacation and super duper undesirable to use them if they are non hopping and you need to park hop. Purchasing a brand new expiring ticket for your sister on this vacation will cost less than having to buy new tickets for that short vaation far off in the future.

Disney hints:
http://members.aol.com/ajaynejr/dispass.htm

Value of 5 basic 1 day tickets when used later for a day tripper or weekend: $320. (You may have gotten them for less with your package)
Cost of one basic 2 day ticket: $127.

Cost of one basic 7 day ticket: $212.

Hopping costs $37. once for the 7 day ticket but costs $37. multiple times for the single tickets.
