Ticket Experts… please Please PLEASE HELP!!! I thought I had this “Disney Thing” figured out… then they go and make all these changes

I’m trying to budget for our upcoming trip in Dec. We will need 5 days worth of tickets w/ park hopping for 3 people – 2 adults & 1 child. We don’t need any plus options.

What we bring to the table – 1 ticket from last year – a 7 day park hopper + w/ 2 park days left on it and NO options used. We purchased the tickets last year (November) from Hotwire Savings Club – I’ve read we will only get credit for what Hotwire paid Disney? How on earth do I find out what that credit would be??????

I am pretty sure myself & dd will go next year – so purchasing a non-expiring ticket w/ extra days might be a good deal? I’m not sure about dh – he isn’t as “Disney crazed” as I am – he just doesn’t get it :sad2:

I was thinking I might get 2 10-day non-expiring for myself & dd (purchasing in advance from a discount broker) – then use the credit from my old ticket towards the purchase of a 5 day for dh? – If he feels moved he could always upgrade before we leave?

HELP!!!!! I really don’t know what to do – A part of me says just buy what you need & save the $ & worry about it next year…

:worship: OH PLEASE DIS FAMILY!!!! HELP!!!! :worship:

~I’m posting this on the Theme Park Attractions & Strategies Board as well as the Budget – I wasn’t sure which is the right one.

Most ticket experts would tell you that your remaining days are more valuable "as is", as opposed being applied for dollar credit on a new pass.

You could purchase a 3-day MYW hopper (expiry) for your DH and the 10-day MYW Hoppers (no-expiry) for yourself and DD. DH could use the 2 days from the PHP plus the MYW Hopper for his 5 days. However, the price difference between a 3-day MYW Hopper and a 5-day ticket is only about $25. You may want to just hang onto that PHP for a later date.

To all you experts, I have a 4 day park hopper pass that has never been used, I was thinking of upgrading for a 10 day, park hopper, no experation. Do you think this would be a good idea? Seems like I would be able to get the add'l 6 days cheaper than buying an add'l one next time I go.

What are your thoughts on this?
