myw Snacks June 7-13

We had a terrible time getting our snack credits used. I didnt think it would be such a struggle. We got Coke, Sprite and water about once per park. We ended up having 18 credits to use up our last day. We asked what we could get at the little store by Pepper Market at CSR and this is what we got:

3-Sprites
3-Cokes
3-Waters
4-Giant Rice Crispie treats
2-Famous Amos Cookies

We ended up having 3 unused credits. So we bought ice cream bars for 3 of the cutest kids

As for other snacks, we really didnt snack much. At Epcot we got caramel apples at Germany and thats about it.

We barely managed to use our snack credits as well. My DH was not happy that he couldn't get a frozen coke and some other items that cost less that some of the snacks that are permitted under the plan. DD6 got a nestle's cookie ice cream sandwich which I think was $3. That was the most "unusual" item. I had 2 CS left over and tried to think of a way to give them away, but full counter service breakfast was not open until 7 am at POFQ and we left at 6:30 am. We did get an order of beignets and used 1 CS though.

I forgot to mention our snack at Downtown Disney. We all got Goofys Glaciers. The first night I got Coke in a Minnie Mouse Cup, DS got Coke in a Stitch cup and DD got pink in a Princess Cup. DH was a party pooper,he stayed late and didnt want to carry the cup around so he didnt get one. Our last day we took our cups and got refills, DD and I got Coke and DS got Banana. DH got a Coke glacier in a regular cup....he still wouldnt get a refillable cup lol.

We had ten leftover and Pepper Market was out of everything and the wierd lady kept telling my DH cokes and water only - literally, no sprites, nothing. (???) And the thing is, since we weren't using our snack credits, we also weren't spending money on snacks I really wanted like funnel cakes, coke floats, dole whips, etc. because I kept thinking I should be getting something for a snack credit to save money. That is where I wish I just didn't worry about the money and buy what I wanted to buy, you know?

So, your limited to just Cokes, water, popcorn and Micky Mouse Bars? Good to know for our upcoming trip.

We are going in August and our plan is to use the snack credits for bottled water each day and buy whatever snacks we want otherwise. (We may sneak a few Mickey bars in there as well!) When doing the calculations on deciding on the dinning plan I viewed the snack credits as an added bonus but not as part of the reason to get the plan.

I did exactly the same, Pedler! I refuse to feel guilty about that Dole Whip. You think if I tell myself that every day until July 7th that I'll actually believe it eventually?

I'm doing the same - what's a trip to Disney without that Dole Whip???

Was glad to hear I could use them for my other favorite - Mickey Bars!!

I have decided to get $100 worth of Disney Dollars just to use on snacks for our next trip. Somehow I feel like I've already spent the money once I convert it to Mickey Mouse money (DH claims all our money is becoming Mickey Mouse money, but I don't think he means the same thing as I do ).

I am afraid the frugal me will over ride the indulgent me if I only have cash to spend, so this is my plan. I have a Disney cc and about $120 in rewards credit right now, maybe I will transfer it to my rewards card so I can use it at the Disney Store to get the Disney Dollars (I can still use my rewards card there, right?). That ought to make DH happy .

Thanks for all the MYW info, I am eating up these posts. Yeah that was corney. But really, I do love to read all about how the plan works irl.

From what some people on here are saying, it seems to be different for everyone depending on which snack cart you're at and who the person is working there at the time. But I definitely wouldn't go expecting anything over and beyond the basics...

According to the info I've read, the snacks are limited to 20 oz. bottled coke products, frozen ice cream novelties (mickey bars, fruit bars, , 24 oz. dasani water, lays grab bag chips, a piece of fruit, medium fountain soft drink or apple juice, or a scoop of popcorn.

Yeah thats whats listed, but you dont always get a CM that will give you all those tihngs. Then you could get a CM that will give you other things. The park snack carts were pretty much right on with the list, but at the resort it was varied. Im glad my DH asked because the Rice Crispie treats were awesome
