I'm thinking about adding the MYW dining for our Sept trip. Question? Anyone have any opinions if the $35 cost is worth it? I know the thought about wanting to pre-pay for food, but I'm interested if you think that you get your moneys worth (or even better, more than your moneys worth).

I am curious too. I think you probably would, unless you are ones who tend to split your meals. But I kinda recall something about saving x number of counter service meals to "save up" for a sit down meal??? I dunno....

When we were in Orlando in Feb, we each ordered separate meals (me 35, DH 33, DS 7). DS and I always had food left over. I wish I had thought about splitting a few meals with him. So that WAS what I was planning to do on our next trip. BUT, if I get the dining plan, that would nix that, unless you CAN share meals and save a few here & there for "better" or more expensive sit downs???

I may be wrong on some of this but:

You'll need to stay on site
You'll need to purchase it for all in your party
You'll need to buy it for the whole stay
Not all restaurants are included (most of the World Showcase restaurants aren't)
Many restaurants are "signature" and will count as two sit downs (but you can pool your whole party), and just pay for a kids meal with them.
It includes one counter service, one sit down, and one snack per day for $35 and includes tax and tip.

Its pretty hard not to spend $35 at a sit down restaurant if you have appitizers and dessert. The question is, would you spend $35 a day without it. If you are content splitting and don't order three courses, it might not be a great deal. If a lot of your choices aren't on the plan (or alternatively, all your choices are "signature") it might not be a great deal. But no one here knows better how you are likely to eat than you are. Check out the menus at www.allearsnet.com and "pretend" order and see if you'll break even for your trip.

Amen to allearsnet! Looking at the standard prices of typical meals helped my DH and I decide on adding the dining option to our package. We LOVE to eat nicely while at DW--and we're going to take advantage of the nicest, highest-priced restaurants that fit into the one-credit category so that we can maximize our pre-paid dollars! One exception--we're using 2 credits each to go to Narcoosee's--never been there, and I've read that you can get the most expensive thing on the menu with no problem!

I think it is worth it - if you eat. I got the plan, mainly because I felt it was a bargain for my 3 kids @ $10/each.

The one downside in my opinion is now I feel pressure to use it to get my money's worth - I'm spending a lot of time planning days around PS's instead of what I really am going to WDW to do (have fun).
