MYW Dining plan - what do you think???

I was just wondering about what fellow Canadians thought about the dining plan for our trip. We will be in WDW Jan 1-7 (me, DD8 and DS4) and if the dining rates stay the same as 2005, the price would be only $55/day ($35 for me and $10 each for the kids) total price for 7 nights is only $385 US. I know that if we don't get the plan we will only spend about half that since DS and I are smaller eaters. Last trip to WDW we spent nearly nothing on food since we took one 55 lb. suitcase full of it with us. Without this plan, we won't get to any character meals this time at WDW (which I'm fine with since the kids are so excited they hardly eat during these type of meals).

Can I get some opinions on whether or not I should get this?

Also, can I add it 9the dining plan) last minute to my room only reservation with CRO, only then turning it into a WDW package. Since my father is ill, there is always the chance that this trip won't happen and that is why we are hoping to book room only (with CAA discount). Then about 2 days before trip, can I add dining to this?
Also, can I add just dining to room only or do I have to add tickets as well? I would prefer to buy tickets at WDW (again due to possibility that trip may have to be cancelled last minute)

Any thought would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

:wave2: We are planning on going Jan 15, I'm still waiting for them to come out with a 2006 dining package. They told me there will probably be a increase, but it should only be minimal. All we could do so far was block our rooms, they told me hopefully by the end of June into July something should be available. I'll give you the 1 800 828 0228 number it saves alot on long distance. Let me know what you find out. Good luck and have fun :flower:

Hi: I think that I would go for it, you never know when they will discontinue it. Don't forget that it includes tax and tips.

I would do some character meals at lunch or dinner if you can, then there is a good variety of food for your children and they will probably have pretty nice memories of the characters at these meals.

I have my money down for the free dining in the fall but with this heat I am afraid that it will be to hot for me at the parks if the beginning of oct in florida is like this weather we are having.

I would go for it!! I am Canadian myself and I surely spend more than that on food, who knows maybe I am a pig! But I think its a great deal. The added bonus for me as that tip is included in the price. :cheer2: I mean I always feel that Disney give such great service, I spend so much last time in tip. I think the $35 is an awesome deal. Beside right now there is a free dining package that you can book.
