MYW dining plan include desert for breakfast?

They probably also changed to no dessert because as many people already said, they would get the dessert and eat it later which means you weren't buying that fruit or any other snack later on in the day. A piece of fruit is covered as a snack under the snack portion of the dining plan, but not fruit cups, cheesecake, danish, etc. so by having dessert as part of breakfast (who eats dessert at breakfast anyway?) Disney was probably losing money since people weren't buying snacks later on in the day.

they also probably noticed that a *lot* of people (based on my limited observation) were stretching two or three breakfasts to feed four or more people because the breakfast platter type meal is quite hardy and if it comes w/a "dessert" of a bagel or a muffin, it's quite easy to turn that into an add'l meal... heck,we did!

I guess you can't feed your child a piece of cake and call it "lunch", can you? :rotfl: But a bagel and juice for breakfast is pretty standard.

I was adding it up one day to see if everyone PAID for their fruit cups how much extra money Disney wold make. Pop has over 2000 rooms, I think. If at least two people from each room (4000 people) buy a fruit cup each morning (4000 x $3 = $12,000) you can see how that would add up to a staggering amount of money over the course of a year. Then multiply it out by however many resorts there are on property. If they took away the dessert with lunch people would just use a snack credit for a Mickey bar. "No dessert with breakfast" probably translates into a lot of extra money.

I read on another board that the "breakfast not included" was incorrect and that Disney will be making changes to reflect the error. How true this is, I do not know. It WOULD be nice to be able to get a "dessert" with breakfast..meaning a bagel, fruit cup, yogurt, etc. Because you could feed a toddler with that as well and besides it shouldn't matter if it's breakfast or lunch..if you are able to get it with lunch then you should be able to get it with breakfast too!

Anyone hear if this was true..that Disney made a mistake about desert with breakfast?

Does the "no dessert with breakfast" change bother anyone else? I don't get it. You can get a nice huge dessert included if you get a counter service lunch or dinner, but NOT if you get a counter service breakfast? Why not? I just think it's tacky on Disney's part. Just my opinion.
Nope, it doesn't bother me. I never heard of having dessert with breakfast until the MYW Dining Plan seemed to permit it.
