MYW Dining Plan for food & DDE for liquor?

If you have BOTH the MYW Dining Plan & also the "Disney Dining Experience" card, can you use the table & counter service credits for your food and pay for any "extras" like liquor with a 20% discount from my Disney Dining Experience card?

I haven't tried it myself, but several on this board have reported doing this successfully. I plan to get the DDE for our next couple of trips to use on items that the DP doesn't cover (like liquor). Hopefully our experience will be the same as reported here!

I don't know anything about the dining plan, but we do have the DDE card. We ate at Brown Derby and got the Famtasmic Dinner Package..a fixed price for an app, entree and dessert. They do not take the DDE card for that. BUT...I knew DH and I were going to have a few cocktails before dinner, so I asked the waiter if he would ring our drinks up on a separate bill, and he said, "Of course, no problem."

Just another tip...if you like mixed drinks, and are planning on having more than one, request a "double." My DH and I did this all over WDW (well, in Marrakesh, Brown Derby, Blue Zoo, Espn, Boatwrights) and they only charge you a dollar or two more, and they truly pour a double shot. I posted a thread about it recently...it is a great deal.

I used both during my trip October 05 I had only 1 CM have to go check with his manager to make sure it was ok. Just make sure you tell the CM this is what you will be doing as they have to set up 2 checks in the computer. I also felt more relaxed as the server was very accomodating as to what was/was not allowed on the Dining plan. They even gave me extra deserts at two restaurants and asked if I would rather pay for my DS6 3.50 desert with the DDE card. I had great dinners and deserts for late night snacks.

I usually left the 20 % discount as the tip. So I wasnt paying a tip.
