HI everyone

Just a "heads up" for anyone interested in adding on the new dining option. There have been many changes to the restaurant choices. Many have been elimianted and it seems that character meals are two sit-down choices now.

The more I hear the happier I am that we decided to just keep our hotel discount and pay for our food as we go. I have a feeling that my way is probably rather different than Disney's way. This way we eat what, when, and where we want. Maybe it costs a little more, maybe not, but it is so much easier not to worry with what is and isn't included! :earseek:

I agree, I thought about it, but really we don't do a table dining everyday and we don't do character meals much either. We love RFC and belong to the safari club....we eat at RFC at least twice each trip. We also get gift certificates from My Points so we eat for free at least twice each trip. I was not pleased that they don't book the package for more than 8 nights and I really don't like the idea of no codes to save on the room. It means nothing for us to "save" $30/day on food, if we turn around and spend it on the price of the room. I am really glad that I waited. I save out $100/day for us for dining.....including our travel days. We always have extra at the end, because we like counterservice. I plan our park touring intinerary also for us to get burgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, bbq, pizza, and sandwich or a wrap in various patterns, so that we don't get many meals where lunch and dinner were the same thing. Staying at POP helps too. They have a really nice variety of food at counter service prices. As far as I am concerned MYW should be named "Do It Our Way.....you still pay". Maggie

Didn't someone post the guide maps would list the dining places accepted by MYW?
I picked up a MK guidemap late this morning before leaving MK. I don't see anything on this about MYW dining. Just a regular Dining Legend.

I printed the participating restaurants off this morning from the WDW website.... at first glance it looks like character meals are 2 sitdown meals but I don't think so. The Mickey head icon means "Character meal" and the asterisk * means "signature meal".... 2 separate things. That is how it looks to me anyway.

I did see Le Cellier is now signature and Pepper market is no longer participating. Coronado Springs is out for us...narrows my choices a bit!

Oh, I see, then the * restaurants, shows are in the last column. Not so bad but they did eliminate alot of Epocot restaurants.

I was beginning to get confused between The Land and the Land character meal, but both have characters.

Thanks for the clarification

You're welcome- I think I'm right.... but it could change in an hour!!

No. I definitely think you are right - hopefully it will remain this way, if it didnt there really wouldnt be much choice. I hope they add more Epcot restaurants though. I love love LeCellier, but wanted to try Teppanyaki this time.

I really wanted to do LeCellier too.... not sure I want to give up an extra sit down meal though... We'll see how much $$ I can save between now and November 30th!! :wizard:

I know - I dont want to give up two meals for that. But......we do have an option for Candlelight Processional - if the cost hasnt gone up too much for that.

We are going from 11/22-11/28.

Character meals are included in the plan (only using one meal) the ones that are not included (using two meals) are the * listed in the last column. The mouse icon indicates it is a character meal.

We were only going to do one Character meal and then have PS's for dinner each night if we got the meal add-on. We wouldn't normally eat that much. The rest's that we were going to eat at are now not included in the plan, so the only meal it would have saved us money at would have been our Character breakfast, so not worth the meal add-on for us. I calculated what we would most likely spend on food for the day and the meal add on was about $60/more/day for our family of 5.

I'm also glad we didn't switch to the Package, but what about all those people last week who did book the dining package? Will Disney have to honor what the meals were when they booked their reservations?

I just want to take the time to thank all y'all that are working this, through all the kinks, I dont think Disney understands the problems until the brave souls that book it, try it, complain and praise it... So keep posting!!
