Does anyone know if you can purchase the 10 day non-expiring PH
MYW ticket with a resort package and not stay the full 10 days? I want to stay at a Disney resort for 4 nights, take advantage of the dining package, and reserve some days for the next trip.

I called Disney reservations about this and got a non-answer to my question.
Basically, the CM told me, that "it says here that anyone asking for a 10 day non-expiring ticket should consider purchasing an annual pass." She went on to quote me the differece in the cost of the tickets (which I was already aware of thanks to Mousesavers). My problem is that I am not sure we will be able to return again within a year. I think being able to use the tickets at a later date and not being locked in to a 365 day time frame has a real value that is not being taken into consideration if you compare the cost of the non-expiring MYW tickets to the annual pass.

I am not knocking annual passes. We had them May 2002 till May 2003 and
made three trips. Without a doubt we really got our money's worth and then some.

Just wondering if I am the only one with this issue.

I read somewhere in another thread that CM"S were discourageing the purchase of 10 day tickets. I can't imagine why?? But as I understand it you can buy ANY length ticket with your package. It use to be the ticket and length of stay had to match but not anymore. If you want the 10 day you should get it. :flower:

Thanks for the reply. I think so too. I am going to try calling again and not let the CM discourage me. I really want the extra days as well as the freedom to carry them over to another year, if necessary.

Kind of like my cingular minutes. HA!

I'm guessing b/c the more you purchase--the better benefit of an AP (granted it expires 1 year from date of 1st use).

That's the only thing I can think of.

I told by a AAA agent that you can upgrade your passes once you check in. I have the 7 day passes booked with my package but we need 8 days. When I get to the resort, I'll upgrade the passes to 10 days.

I tried to get a quote for 7 nights at a resort plus 10 day ticket. Was told they don't sell 10 day tickets. I told him they were online. The guy did not really care. I belong to AAA so I asked for a quote there and she was able to get it. Found out that it is cheaper if you book your room separately from buying the ticket. You can also get cheaper tickets at ticketmania.com.

I booked the package that includes the dining plan for 7 nights and asked about buying the 10 day park ticket pass and she said I couldn't do it because it is a package. I'm sure if you book everything separately you can get whatever pass you want but if you want that dining plan you have to book a package and it seems you can't book a 10 day park ticket with it.

I have no idea what happens if you're actually staying 10 days or more - perhaps you cannot book a package that includes the dining for that long?

I spoke w my travel agent. I also wanted the dining plan but instead of the 7 day ticket I wanted the 10 day to use in the future. The price diff is so small, I can't imagine not getting it, knowing I go every yr. She told me, I couldn't bc I had the package. If I wanted to get the room only and then the 10 day I could, but no dining plan.
I am curious, once you are there, can you take the 7 day and upgrade on your own, or will they know its w a package?

VALDISNEY. . . I would love to know the answer to this question. Anyone going soon on a package? Let us know about upgrading the ticket from 7
to 10 days. It would be a good deal, but not a steal, you would be paying $100 for the non-expiring option anyway. Plus, Disney would get more of your money in other ways as well when you return to use up those days.

>>> "it says here that anyone asking for a 10 day non-expiring ticket should consider purchasing an annual pass."

Can you get a room and dining package and no pass if you have an AP?

Ten day non-expiring tickets have their place, but if you have hopping and plusses added, when you you get to 13 theme park days and two trips in a year (or one trip if they can't create a custom 13 day ticket), the premium annual pass is better than even Expiring tickets.

You can get 15 days (14 if expiring) out of a 10 day pass with the plus pack by using the plusses on separate days.

You can get two expiring non-hopping ten day passes for less than the AP (basic MYW/regular AP or pluspack/premium, respectively).

I attended my local AAA office's Disney Night last night and thought I would pass along some of what Greg, the Disney Cast Member who gave the presentation, had to say.

The big push during the presentation was the Magic Your Way packages. Someone asked about discounts for people staying off-site so the Magic Your Way tickets were discussed at some length. Greg mentioned that if a family saw themselves making several trips of shorter lengths it might make monetary sense to buy a 7 day MYW pass and use it on both trips. Since he kept talking about the 7 day pass I asked whether longer MYW passes are available. The next exchange went something like this:

Greg: "How do you know about that?"
Me: "I read"
Greg: "The Internet?"
Me: "Maybe ;-)"
Greg: "Could it be a web site called Mouse-something?"
Me: "Could be"
Greg: "I hate that site (with a smile)"

Greg did admit that WDW is working on a 10 day pass that should be available in about 30-45 days but said it is not available yet.

Poohj80, does this mean you can get a 10 day MYW ticket from ticketmania but not from Disney? What about the Disney stores, do they sell 10 day tickets? Has anyone purchased the 10 day tickets (no package) from Disney who can comment? Thanks.

My situation is that we are planning MYW package for Dec 2005 with dinning plan. We are also visiting relatives next month and wanted 10 day tickets to cover both trips. Because we are visiting WDW before we use the package we are unable to use the 10 day passes before we use the package. So what I am doing is purchasing MYW package with dinning plan thru AAA. If you purchase one (1) Base ticket one (1) Day ticket you can add the dinning plan for are 5 day package. Yes each person will receive the 1 sit down, 1 counter service, and 1 snack meal for each day no matter how many park tickets you buy. So I am buying 10 day no exp passes thru orlando tickets and saving $400 for the whole package. The differance between buying 5day MYW with 5 day tickets, dinning, and Buying 5 day MYW with 1 day ticket, dinning with also purchasing 10 day noexp passes with later package saves us $400 total.

From reading recent posts, folks have been successful buying these passes from Disney as tickets only and not as part of a MYW package although the Disney cast members have recommended annual passes instead. I think the AAA Disney rep was not too well informed.

From what I have been reading on various boards, Disney just started 9 and 10 day packages with tickets from 1-7 or 10 days. I called and asked and they said you cannot book or price online, you have to do it by phone. You can book a 7 night dining package with a 10 night ticket!

I got a 10 day ticket never exp added to my 3 night POR side stay. CM told me the ticket will be on the room key and just hold on to the key for the next trip to use as your pass. I don't have any dinning on my key . I booked room first then added ticket. Will let you know how this worked out.
