Has any one had any experience with this resort. I have friends from work looking at staying there. Any help would be appreciated.

We were booked to stay here in March, and after reading reviews we decided to cancel and go back to Cypress Pointe. Plus they had no outdoor spas/hot tubs. There pools also closed earlier 9 or 10 ish. I could be wrong. And I am only going by what I found out when I called the resort and reviews on tripadvisor.

Yes they do, but it is $11 per person. I would think it would be cheaper to possibly take a cab? Not sure!

We were there March 20 thru March 27th, with grandkids and both sets of grandparents (6 adults, 3 kids) -- in a 3 b. unit. It was a nicer 2 b unit with an adequate l b. unit connected by a central foyer. I am very fussy and it was ok. The worst part were the older mattresses and pullout sofa (had no support). My husband didn't sleep well. New mattresses were being delivered to the building across from ours B.29) on the day we were leaving. The good: very clean (even refrig), plusher, newish bath towels, unit was well supplied, but I bought paper plates, towels etc. since our 1 B had no dishwasher. We only ate breakfast there on park days, but that was helpful. The landscaping and grounds were beautiful and well kept. Common areas very clean and lots of parking. The property was just south of 192 and close to the parks. I went to the Publixs food store near Orange Lake cc and there is a new Target across the street from the Publixs.(on 192)
The best part was the pool -- zero entry, slide, clean and warm. Ask for unit with new mattresses.

We spent a week at Mystic Dunes last month and loved it. We have also stayed at Cypress point. Although we liked Cypress Point I would have to say we loved Mystic dunes. We had a beautiful 2 bedroom right off the golf course and a beautiful lake with a waterfall right out the bedroom window and big screened in porch. I think it was building 10. Mini golf and the pool were very close by across the street. The only downside was not having a hot tub but everything else made up for it. They have a nice restaurant with nightly specials - prime rib, fish, pizza buy one get one, hamburgers. All were reasonable and a different special every night. I would also mention that the bus to Disney and Universal left right across the street from this building. The furnishing were all uptodate as opposed to Cypress point that was a little dated. Also TVs were very old as opposed to a big flat screen at Mystic. Both places are owned by Diamond Resorts and we have always had a great time at their resorts.

We were there in March and had the new mattresses. They were VERY comfortable. The rest of the unit had not yet been renovated, but we were told they were redoing the kitchens with all new stainless appliances. There was a lot of work going on in one of the buildings down the hill from us.

It's a nice resort in a great location for Disney.

We stayed at Mystic Dunes last October when we booked a Universal package. We found the property very beautiful, and were pleasantly surprised by all the room 2 bedroom for 5 of us). The pool and courts were great too.
On the flip side, since its built on a sand pile, we had some tiny ants in our 2nd floor room near the front door. We did complain and were given a certificate for another complementary 2 night stay. They seemed very accommodating.
Overall, I would give them another try. I'd just be sure to make a close inspection before taking the room.

We stayed at Cypress during our last vacation and we won't be staying there again. The place echoes terribly and while most people are quiet enough, the neighbor next to us got up at 3:30am on Friday and made so much noise they woke us all up. Doors echo and slam, bathroom noises echo.

Not the best stay for us.

We had terrible problems during our visit to Mystic Dunes. I've stayed in about 30 different timeshares, and the first room they gave us was the worst we had ever seen. Our AC didn't work, so we lost an evening due to frequent trips by the maintenance person. He finally said it was fixed and we were about to leave but smelled smoke. The wires from the unit burned up! He came back and turned off the breaker. If we would have left, the unit could have caught on fire since the breaker did not trip itself.

The maintenance worker said problems with the AC units were the norm. He said is was unsafe for us to stay in the room and left us with a bewildered look on our face considering at this point, we were completely unpacked.

We spent 1/2 hour repacking in the stench of burnt plastic then spent another 1/2 waiting for keys to a new unit.

They upgraded us to an owners unit which was much nicer. I'd say it was on par with Westgate Vacation Village (which isn't saying much). It had the same white laminate kitchen and bathroom cabinets, leather furniture and mirrors everywhere. I had considered WVV as the worst in the area but Mystic Dunes has them beat hands down.

It is such a shame because the grounds are beautiful. I'm sure it will be great when Diamond finally gets around to improving the rooms.

I prefer Cypress Pointe and would never stay in Mystic Dunes again until the repairs and remodeling are complete.

We stayed at Mystic Dunes for a week in December. The accommodations were spacious, clean and comfortable. My mom traveled with us so the split floor plan was a plus! I would definitely stay there again!

My friend was there the last week of March and commented on how the bus back from Universal took a good hour and dropped her off as far away from her unit as was possible; it was in a parking lot that she didn't even know where she was. The bus made multiple stops before getting to Mystic Dunes even though the driver asked if all the passengers were headed to MD. Some people got off before getting to the resort. She didn't mention anything else about the resort.

Hi, I work at the golf course course in Mystic Dunes for 3 months as a snow bird. They were recently bought out by Diamond Time shares and many upgrades and improvements have happened since Mid December. New mattresses being one of many upgrades. Units are classic high end time share units with lots of tile in the bathrooms, whirlpool tubs, big screen TV's, and nice swimming pools located close to buildings.

Most every transportation company that provides service to the parks from hotels and resorts has a bad reputation. They are not run by the hotels or the resorts but contracted out. They can visit many hotels on a trip, get filled to capacity at park closing time and be no where near scheduled times. I strongly recommend taking the rental car to the parks so as not to lose valuable hours sitting around.

Good Luck...Ted
