Ok so my friend and I are attending a convention at the anaheim convention center and I am trying to find a good deal on a nice hotel room for the two of us.

If you can get a decent rate at the Doubletree Guest Suites I highly recommend that property. Everything was really top notch and it's very close to the convention center.
Also check out Travelzoo. The last time I checked several Anaheim properties had deals there.
The only downer about the Doubletree was the ART shuttle. They really need to over hall the way they do things IMHO.

Not sure where you got "2 miles," but based on Mapquest it's .77 miles from DLR.

I agree with tiffntwins that it seems like Hotel Menage, although I am not certain.

On BookIt.com if you go to the description of Hotel Menage, it has the exact same comment that is in your posting about being 1 mile to the park. Of the hotel features in your post here's the comparison with what's in the BookIt description of Hotel Menage:

If you bid on priceline for a 3 1/2 star hotel you are likely to get either the hilton or the hyatt which are both near to the convention senter. You can look at http://www.betterbidding.com/ for tips and info about priceline and hotwire. There are lots of posts on that site by people telling what hotel they won so you can take an educated guess at what hotel you might get. Last summer we got the hyatt and yesterday we just bid and got the hilton. From what i've read they seem to be fairly common to win on priceline.

The Crowne Plaza has also come up for us a few times using Priceline. Just be aware that the Doubletree on City Dr. comes up too on a PL 3.5 star bid, also the Hilton Suites (really nice)...as I recall, not close to DL or the convention center.

Lavender Peach - How much are you bidding to get those hotels?

I bid $50 yesterday and got the hilton. My dad actually did the bidding last year when we got the hyatt so I'm not sure the exact bid but I think it was around $50 too. You also need to keep in mind that most (if not all) the 3 1/2 star hotels by DLR charge parking so you need to add that on to what your total price will be. I think the hilton charges $15. But it's still cheaper than staying at a lot of places around there. Not sure if you've bid on PL before or not but in case you don't know, if they don't accept your bid you have to either change location or stars to bid again or wait 24 hours before you can try a different bid. Hope that helps.

I forgot that Crowne Plaza is also one that comes up a lot. And yes, there are other hotels you could get (like the Doubletree). That's why looking at betterbidding.com helps so you at least sort of know what you might get. Actually, that site was great when i used hotwire a few years ago because i was able to compare the amenities listed on hotwire with ones that people said they won and so I was 99% sure I knew which hotel i was getting on hotwire before i got it.

Definitely check out betterbidding.com. I use that every time I go through Hotwire. It is pretty accurate and very helpful. it puts my mind at ease when using HW, which normally makes me nervous.

If it is hotel menage I have nothing but great things to say about staying there. Both times I stayed there it was great. Plus there are way less kids than other area resorts, great after spending a day at the parks full of kids.

I just bid on a hotel through priceline and I'm paying $35 a night for a 3* holiday inn. This is for our weekend trip this weekend. For 3 nights we are paying $127 total with tax.

They used to only have 3.5 stars in Disneyland area on Priceline and the Hilton was listed as a 3.5 star. They now list the Hilton and one other (I think Marriott or Hyatt) as 4 stars. So if you bid for a 4-star, you're pretty sure to get one of those.

We use Priceline every time we go to Disneyland. We've stayed at the Hilton and Holiday Inns for usually around $50 a night. Keep in mind though that the Hilton does charge parking at around $17 a day. Still a great price altogether though.

The one time we used Hotwire at DLR (nearly 4 years ago), for $55/night we selected a 3.5 and it ended up being the Hilton. Room was small, and I think they hadn't refurbished in awhile so it didn't feel very 'Hilton-ey' to me, but we just wanted a place to sleep and it was a deal despite the parking being expensive (had driven in our own car from Arizona ... long story). At the time DS was 5 months so we just Bjorned him everywhere, though the walk was long at the end of the day ...
