myspace: PLEASE HELP!

im making a myspace now that it works on my computer (finally!) and i have NO IDEA what im doing! lol, how do you put pictures on? how do you make a backround? what should i put on it!? please any help/advise/tips would be appreciated!

Hey, i used to have a myspace. What you need to put on your background is something that reflects your sense of style. So put on anything. Now when it comes to actually putting the things on there, I have no idea. My friend did that for me. i'll ask her and post back. Good luck. If you really need to try asking Tom (the owner, he should be on your friends list) for advice on how to do it. Sry

you can put your profile on private so no one can see it unless you invite them to be your friend, and people can make those judgements for themself, not saying that there isnt any risk and i know there is

Okay. I'm copying this from an html page I made quite a while back. because people kept asking me what code to use and such.

first you need to have a basic understanding of HTML (don't ask me what that is. if you don't know I can't help you) to change your myspace page.

Myspace runs of HTML and you can either get someone else to write it for you or write it yourself. (don't ask me to write that for you)

First I would suggest filling out the "about me" and "music" and such. then you can add code in later.

There are several layout maker sites (don't ask me what a layout is) that I can recomend if you would like.

I am 100% with you! I do not like myspace. The concept in theory is all right but there are to many sick people out there.. My senior project for school is about protection from online preditors and my example website is myspace.

Hey,

Theres two ways you can make a myspace, one be lazy and completely get the layout from a layout site, or you can learn the codes. If you have any questions about adding ANYTHING, ask me. I used to have a myspace layout site last summer, so basically I know pretty much all there is to know about myspace layouts. I know how to do layovers, all the codes..just pm me if you need anything, I may not get to read it asap, because right now I'm currently sitting in a Cabin in Tennessee and tomorrow I will be at Disney World. So, if you have any questions, ask me, and I'm sure I can help you.

yea..but they can only see one, so you dont have to set ur default as you, u can have it totally random.

they also set up things where if it says ur 14-15 you cant be added to somone over 16 or it might be 18 unless they know ur last name or email...so they've def. added more things to protect younger users. But if you choose to lie about your age then thats ur own fault and people cant blame myspace for that.

im getting sick of people blaming myspace for having ther younger kids meeting up with older people who lie about there age...but its not myspace's fault..ther kids made the decision to meet someone knowing they could be lying, myspace didnt.

good point, but im old enough so i have nothing to worry about, and you can put a random picture there or a picture of something/place that you took, it doesn't have to be of yourself, there are ways to be on myspace that are safe and jenbabe13 is right, its the kids who put theirselves out there and meet up with old guys pretending to be 17 when their 40 fault for doing that myspace shouldn't be held accountable
and if anyone heard the story about the 14/15 yr from NJ old meeting up with someone she met on myspace and it turned out to be a 40 yr old yet he did nothing to her, nothing happened, that girl is from my town so...

Im a pretty hardcore myspacer lol and its pretty easy to tell who is legit and who is a crazy child molester, people just need to use better judgement and stop trying to hook up with people they met on myspace, use some common sense people and do some background work.

Thank you! My space is pretty much safe unless you go out trying to meet the people unless you've known them since before myspace. That is the problem. PPl don't hink and go to meet someone and then get raped or killed. Use better judgement.

yep! i know! i have put in soo much time with my myspace, like im on it a ton always adding different stuff to mine. Normally im on myspace just for the band/music pages. But still lol
