If you've had a myspace, I need help.

I got a message from some random person saying my photo was on some website I've never heard of. I replied "who are you?". It wasn't typed like an automated spam message, just like normal "hey did you know your photo is displayed of xyz.com?".

I don't have my real age or location on there, and my displayname isn't my real name.
I am really freaked out right now. I know, I know, "Sonya you shouldn't be putting your face on MySpace!".
But my profile is private, and I only keep it to stay in touch with friends.
I'm going to tell my mom when she gets home.

Any advice? I'm REALLY scared right now.

Mods, if this is an inappropriate thread, please delete.

 It's probably just someone trying to freak you out! Even if someone posted your picture somewhere, there's no other identifying information. You'll be fine, but definitely tell your mom!

actually that's happened to me before
it's just someone trying to phish your account
Don't go to the website!
my friend did and her profile got phished twice
and your picture is not on the website either
they never are

But the thing is, when I went to the website, it said my IP address had already been there? I've never even heard of this place, and no one uses my computer but me?

It's probably a spam. People have some pretty sick ways of making you go to sites, and thus getting viruses by doing so. I'm sorry someones doing this to you. I just recommend not talking to them, and NOT going to the site!

Stuff happens like that on AIM too.
It's all fake, don't worry about it.

It's probably fake...
But sometimes photos can end up in the randomest places.
This girl once had a picture of herself on flicker, and someone who works for some company found it and used it in an ad.
And then one day she saw it and was like yeah um...

I got that EXACT same message too, i promise you it isn't on a website. Just someone trying to phish your account.
I would change your password just to be safe because after i read the message my account was phished.

I get them sometimes , no biggie .

They just want you to go on that site or something .

I just delete them and move on with my life , haha .

Run your virus protection software, to make sure you didn't pick up any keyloggers from the message. I don't know anything about MySpace, but i'e heard its not a good place usually.

Sonya, don't click the site and don't enter your information.
They want to get into your myspace account and get your information.
It's bad. It's someone that hacked into that person's account messaging you that wants to get into your's.

it's not true.

it's just a spam message.
whoever sent it is either trying to phish your account or get you to visit some stupid website that will probably give you a virus.
so don't click it!!

i never everrrr even open messages that aren't from my friends.

Everyone right - it's spam.
I've gotten that and my account was phished.
I fixed it though!
Just be careful with those.
I never open messages from strangers ;]

you shouldn't be worried, i get those all the time, the people that it says sent it, was the ones that got hacked by that website, not you.
