Has anyone ever done the 2500 point AOL deal? It's a 1099 hour free trial for 2500 points. It states that as long as you cancel before 50 days there will be no charge. Has anyone done this??

Thanks!

Have done it - but as I remember, you had to remind them about the points, so keep your confirmation email from AOL. And make sure you cancel AOL before the deadline or you will be charged.

I've done it twice and am getting ready to do it a third time. The last time my points were credited w/out me having to ask for them.

I did the one where you were supposed to get 2000 points and 3 days/2 nights at a Fairfield Resort.

My results???

1) I did not receive the points, even after emailing about it.

2) Was not told until after getting my paperwork in the mail that to get the 3 days/2 nights, you had to make more than $50,000 and go on a required tour as it was a timeshare. I am single and don't make quite that much.

3) When calling to cancel, I had a very long phone call (about 20 minutes!) w/ a very rude AOL employee cussing me out and telling me how stupid I was for signing up for it "just to get some free stuff". Of course he would never transfer me to a supervisor, and I didn't want to hang up because I was afraid I'd have to keep paying for it. I tried it out and hated it, so I did not want to keep it.

I'm glad everyone else had good luck w/ it. Just be warned that it doesn't always go so smoothly.
