Help! They have "reversed" over 1200 of my points. My account balance is now in the negative! I have emailed them to find out why this happened. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I just cashed out for a $25 webbie, however that should have left me with over 100 points. Now I am in the hole?! All it says on my account statement is "reversal" and then has in the credit column a figure of (-1209). :(

Oh, my goodness! I've never heard of this before! Let us know what they tell you -- I can't imagine why they'd do this.

The only reason I know for them to take points back is when you return merchandise. The only other thing I can think of is that when they were verifying your points for cashing out that they felt something was not earned "properly." I seem to remember hearing about such things if you used a link from someone else's email.

Other than that, I really couldn't say what might have happened.

My statement looked the same way when I recently cashed out. I was shocked and couldn't figure out what the problem was either. However, when I checked back a day later, everything was as it should have been. The statement page still looks odd, and I still can't figure out why they posted everthing the way they did, but my points total is correct.

I got my reply from member care. Here's what they said:

We apologize for any confusion which has arisen regarding your account
balance. We hope the following helps clear up that confusion. Your
total account balance is not negative. However, if you check a monthly or
weekly balance, then you might see a negative number. This is because
on that particular week or month, you spent more points than you earned.

Therefore, if you entered a week with a balance of 1500 points, and in
that week you earned 300 more points, but spent 1000, your total
balance would be a positive number (1500 + 300 - 1000 = 800), but your weekly balance would be negative (300 - 1000 = -700). The weekly and monthly balances reflect only activity from that particular week or month.

-----

So that's as clear as mud! Why would they make it so darn complicated? In my account statement, it clearly has a negative number. I just hope it works itself out in a few days. So for anyone else...don't freak if you have negative numbers show up as your balance after you cash out! Apparently, it is just the wacky way they calculate things.

I'll take that over Blink's lack of manners. I have yet to figure out why I can't log on to my account! I have e-mailed them and this is the second day waiting.

TreeofLife - Don't hold you breath waiting! I emailed Blink over a week ago about missing points and haven't heard anything yet. This is my second attempt - they frustrate the fire out of me!

I had the same experience as jcemom. The statements are very confusing to me & I've yet to make sense of them, but at least so far I've eventually had the correct number of points posted to my account.

I know you can't see the formatting correctly, but here's my statement for the past few weeks. The columns are Week of, Weekly Total, Pts Waiting Approval, Weekly Avail. Bal., Total Avail. Bal.

You can see I cashed out the week of 3/23 and 3/9. So I have a negative Weekly Available Balance. But I still have a positive Total Available Balance. I have never seen an entry that says "reversal." The balance on your home page should still be a positive number.

I think they owe you a better explanation. But I doubt you'll get it.

Today the balance on my home page is -2214. Yesterday they posted another "reversal" of the same amount of -1209. I am emailing them back. He clearly states in his first email to me that my account balance should never be in the negative. Yet it is. I have not a clue how many points I actually should have. This is odd.

On the positive side, I just got my Chili's GC's yesterday -- and it's only been a week since I cashed in MyPoints!:p

I finally figured out what all the "reversal" of points were. I had ordered flowers from FTD when they had the 10 points per dollar deal going on. So I got 1209 points from that. Well that is the exact amount they kept deleting from my account.

The folks at membercare were very quick to respond and acknowleged there had been a glitch with the FTD account. They have already given me back most of the points and they promised the rest would be back w/in 4 days. They also have given me 50 extra points to make up for the ordeal! :bounce:

So if anyone else got points from FTD make sure you didn't lose them!

Glad you got the points back! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc
