Something I'd never have considered before - try not to get a connecting room unless you need it. In my recent trip to CSR we had a connecting room and were treated to a screaming little boy at 6AM two mornings in a row (for about 1.5 hours each day). He had two modes - loud screaming in anger, and loud screaming. I could hear it very well but it was loudest by the door. If the walls were solid I don't think it would have been so bad.

Actually, you are never really in control if you get a connecting room or not. The people who need it request it but there are still rooms out there after all the requests are made and you will have to live with connecting rooms if that's where the cards are laid. If it really bothers you, when you make your next Disney reservation, request a non-connecting room.

The one reason that this doesn't bother me. Once we were in connecting rooms and the children were "vocal" in the morning. We adapted. But then we met the family outside of our rooms. The mother apologized for the noise. The kids took notice of out towel animals (don't expect this to happen, get that in another thread) and said they didn't have a certain one that we did and they liked it. Very pleasant kids, very well mannered. Those kids went home with one additional towel annimal.

We've never requested connecting rooms, but got them on our last two trips. At POFQ the noise from the next room was horrible ... teens laughing and shouting well past midnight. At AKL I was dismayed to see we had a connecting room yet again, but heard no noise at all from the next room. (They saved it all for their balcony!)

The only time a connecting room as bothered us is when the people next door were smoking (in a non-smoking room no less) at both CSR and the Polynesian. I was suprised at just how much smoke gets through the cracks in the doors! Both times we asked to be moved and we were re-assigned with no problem.
