My Yard Goes Disney....Have You Noticed...?

Has anyone noticed that on My Yard Goes Disney once the yard is done there is nothing that is Disney in it? The shows they did last season, everything looked like Disney replicas and had Disney characters. This year there is not even a hidden Mickey? It's really weird. The first one where they put in the playhouses and castle...was very nice, but it just looked like a play village...nothing made it Disney and the Castaway Key backyard was gorgeous, but there was not a thing Disney...nada. If you didn't know where it came from, you'd never know it was a My Yard Goes Disney yard. Strange.

The shape of the pool was a hidden Mickey. I was surprised they didn't use Disney characters on the bridge of the pool.

I've noticed this too. On the Castaway Cay episode they said something to the affect of "since Nemo and the gang can't join us in the back yard they sent along their friends" like off brand fish haha. Thinking back though the only think TRUELY Disney that I remember going into these back yards was the Sorcerers Hat from the very first episode. (oh and the fun wheel from another episode)

I wonder if it has to do with licensing and Disney not wanting their characters and "exact" replicas in peoples back yards, but I do agree they look nice, but not extremely Disney.

Last season they did the Sorcerer's Hat, Alice in Wonderland Tea pot house, Tinkerbell's house, ect...things that were definitely Disney and there were Mickey heads built into things too. It's not a big deal and I sure wouldn't turn them down if they wanted to do my yard, I just noticed a difference this season and thought it was a little odd.

I remember the Mickey heads and the rest of the little things now. I know the first pool they did you could really tell it was Mickey shaped where as this past they said it was a hidden Mickey.

Our family has been noticing this as well. The backyards they're doing are neat, but not "Disney". Even the Hidden Mickey pool wasn't completely Mickey-shaped. We wondered if maybe Disney was worried what people would do with the characters and things that they were using to decorate the backyards? Like take inappropriate pictures or something? Anyway, definitely weird.

I thought maybe this might be the reason too, but not to have even a few Mickey heads built in somewhere, like as the windows in the cabana or something? In the zip line/treehouse episode they put Goofy sheets on the bed, but that was it. I thought it was funny they had kids wearing their own Mickey head safari hats, like they wanted to get Mickey in there somehow.

I wonder if maybe they toned it down this season to preserve resale value on the homes. I know I would love a Disney backyard but those are some serious structures they put up, I can't imagine they are too easy to move if the family moves.

About the only thing I can think of...
