I had a great time. We spent 6 days in WDW. I was able to get a lot of quest because a Florida friend was bring some of her Girl Scouts in for the day. I arranged that while they ate dinner I borrowed all of their tickets and got quest with them. I bought everyone an ice cream as a thank you.

I had gone to AK and had them stamp 40 quests so I would have extra to hand out. It only took a minute or two. The guy there did it quickly. I turned the pages and he stamped them.

They are STILL giving out Adventureland Quest cards if you have the quest folder. I had mine from my last trip so I was able to get the sets of Adventureland in addition to the quest cards they normally give out. I thought that was an important detail to share.

So while I was there with my big stack of tickets the guy doing the quests was kind of slow. We talked a little he told me that one of the other guys plays VMK all the time and keeps them up to date. I also talked to one of the women that works there when I saw her playing. She gave me her VMK name so I am going to look for her. She mostly plays pirates then the VMK store is slow.

I handed out a lot of quests. I was there for about an hour waiting for mine to be done. He kept helping the people that only needed one or two cards because mine was taking so long. So many people go in there and only have one or two correct answers. There wasn't another person that came in with a full set while I was there.

One mother was smart enough to wait for me and when I was through she nicely asked me for a few answers, I handed her the entire package with the Thrill Seekers stuff and he daughters started jumping around they were so excited.

I asked the guy working there is if was ok that I gave stuff out and he said they don't care. So I neded out everything that I had and there were a LOT of happy kids.

I can't stress enough what a nice thing it is to do for someone. We have access to all of the answers here and making up a few extra sets of the folders with the answers and then all of the at home quests you print out can really make a kids day. I wished I had done more.

So next trip is October! I can't wait!

That is really cool. All those girls must be so happy with their quest stuff. My girls love to play with their real life friends on VMK too. It gives them yet another but different avenue to share and learn from. That was a good idea to turn in their quest stuff for them so that you did not overcrowd VMK Central.

On our trip we were fortunate to get a few extra tickets from water parks to get some quest stuff to gift to their friends so that they can have all the fun stuff from WDW VMK Central.

I think what she meant is that she used the Girl Scout tickets to get quest stuff for her (she bought them ice cream as a thank you) and then gave her quest answer forms to others that were at VMK central.

I thought the forms were scanned for the bar code and you couldn't use those forms again.

:confused3

The quest booklets and the quests you print off the internet can be used multiple times. (But each ticket can only redeem them once every 90 days) The bar code just represents the particular quest you did.

The pdfs (tent code, nemo chair, gold set, etc) are individual bar codes and can be used only once.

Exactly in fact if you have multiple tickets say for a family of 4 all they want is ONE set of quest pamphlets and printouts except for the Thrill Seekers, they want one per ticket for that. You can photocopy them but there has to be on for each ticket. Everything else just 1 and the ticket is all they want.

Only the PDFs have individual bar codes.

LisaInNC, this really defines our world still has a ton of people willing to share the magic, and what is better then being able to spread the magic in Walt Disney World!

I will definently print extra quest if I see someone in a little well, quest, troubleshooting.

Kudos to LisaInNC, the magic always come back :wizard:

Oh my mistake. I just think it would have been so much better to introduce these girls to the game with their quest items that will make them remember their trip and have that feeling that I enjoy so much being in Disney everyday. So I guess the childrens quest items you received will be up for trade, if that is the case then that is a shame in my opinion.

To me the magic is - giving and sharing with all not to benefit from it.

Wow! That's a lot of quest!

40 Thrill Seeker sets? I just want to ask...why did you need so many? Trades? I'm sure there are many people, such as myself, who don't get to WDW to do the quests who would love the set. Was that your plan? Gifts? Otherwise, I have to say that it would be a shame that 1 person gets so much while the rest of us have to give up our rare or beta for your free stuff.

I believe the same was said on the Animator's Desk sets. Something about this just doesn't seem right to me. Then again, nobody ever said life was fair, let alone Disney.

Actually not the same thing was said about the animators desks at all.....

Animators Desks are not quest you do not have to turn anything in for them nor are they limited to one every 90 days...while they were not giving them out as freely as gold doors they were more available than quest items.

I agree that maybe 40 of any quest is alittle much for one person and I would hope she is going to share some of that windfall without making people ransom the farm to get it, I know that the DIS Prize team could use some for the Prize vaults.
Shameless begging here. :teeth:

Glad you had such a great time Lisa.

ummm I was just wondering why none of those kids new about VMK and maybe that would have been a good opportunity to get them started?

It sounds like you had a lot of fun! I wish I could go to Disney for 6 days. :teeth:

Ok, I've only done it twice in all the time they have been having park quests.
I wish I could as many times you. LOL

OK, truly I shouldn't speculate, because I'm not Lisa but ..

.. I think the reason Lisa printed out 40 Thrill seeker quests was to share them with people who hadn't printed them out and brought them with them. They must be preprinted and STAMPED from Kali in Animal Kingdom and then brought to VMK Central to be redeemed. Unlike the other quests, VMK Central either keeps these thrill seekers quests or writes Redeemed or something on them so that they can't be used again. Lisa never said how many girl scouts were with her, but I doubt there were 40. I think she really was sharing the magic with those who either didn't know about the Thrill Seeker Quest or hadn't brought one with them.

And I think that anyone who has the good fortune of being able to convince other people to share their ticket for VMK goodies should be able to do that without being bullied by this board into gifting. Maybe she gifts a lot under another character? Even if she doesn't gift, it just shouldn't matter, lucky her, she got some extra quest stuff.

I just have a caveat, if you are blessed to get extra (a little or a lot) quest or any other VMK goodies, it is probably best not to brag about it on the boards. Don't tell the loop holes that brought you your good fortune. Remember someone from VMK reads these boards and the loopholes are often closed quickly (case in point - someone bragged about getting 50 animators desk cards and now they will only give out one per person -NO MULITPLES. I have not found it easy to get the Animator's Desks in quantity for gifting. And now, in fact, only people who have a Deluxe or Premium Annual Pass can even go to Disneyland during the summer months, those who have the So.Calif passes are out of luck unless they want to pay for a black out day ticket.)
Just something to think about.

Good grief, let me clear it up.

1. I made 40 of the Thrill Seeker Quests to GIVE to people that didn't have them I didn't turn in 40 myself. So many people didn't even know about it or anyone that just joined VMK for the first time at WDW would have missed it since it needs to be printed from home. I asked if it was ok at the VMK booth first and they said it was FINE. Wouldn't you have been sad to get home and learn you missed an awesome quest especially if you were not returning again soon?

If you could have seen some of the faces on these kids, you would be wanting to do it too.

2. The girl scouts were young and it was not my place to intorduce them to ANY internet game Disney or otherwise. Can you imagine the grief that might have caused for my friend? Most Parents are leery of the net for young children. We know it's safe but did my friend want to go into that with a few sets of parents? These Brownies were like 6 and 7 and might have been able to play but my friend offered me the opportunity to borrow the tickets as she knows how much I love VMK. I offered to buy the ice cream just to do something nice for her. With or without me they were NOT going to have the opportunity to play VMK on that day trip, it was not on the schedule to visit the booth so even a child that played it would not have been able to visit it unless her parent did it for her. I didn't structure the day or have any say in what they did or how they did it.

3. As for gifting. Many of you know that I gift often. So I think that I don't need any pressure to do so. I make it a point to give something away every day in VMK.

4. I am also a little shocked, I spend a lot of money a year on 4 trips to Disney and someone wants to tell me I get too much quest? It's a shame? I don't see it that way at all and it is none of anyones business what I intended to do with the quest I can trade it, gift it or just LOOK at the cards if I choose! I work, and I work hard for the extra money to take a vacation if you don't get the opportunity do not take that out on me!

My gosh I was trying to share what happened and let you all know about bringing the Adventureland quest from home if you had an old one and to encourage people to help the newbies with the printed from home quests.

I hope Lisa doesn't think I was bullying her, I wasn't just ribbing her about her abundant good fortune....I did not really expect her to gift the Prize patrol and it is of no matter if she does or not....we (my family) goes in Sept and I will get some thrill seeker and HSM for that purpose then ;)

Yes VMK does read these boards and as such I do think that in the future it will now be harder for anyone to get mutliple quest cards at WDW because of this....but time will tell that too.

Again Lisa I am gald you had such a wonderful trip enjoy your plunder. :goodvibes

At the end of the day it does not matter what anyone else thinks.

Hi all,

Lisa, sounds like you had a great trip.

I am currently here now and yesterday they were NOT giving out Adventureland Quest packets even though we still had our cards. However, they included the jungle cruise cards in our packs as well as tent cards and BTM cards, Nemo Chairs. The only thing we did not get was the carpet chair, cactus chair and some pin, don't remember.

Our first day(July 6), the VMK Castmember took all three Thrill Seeker papers AND all three HSM papers. Yesterday, they took ONLY the Thrill Seeker papers and gave us back everything else, including HSM.

We will have one more chance to get some more papers but want to wait until the end our of trip. Rumor is that the pirate quest might come out next week but again, only a rumor.

Disvaclub, got a message from your daughter while I was online at VMK central but was too busy trying to complete the Typhoon Lagoon Quest. Tell her we said hello.

did they say why?

According to the Cast at VMK, they were all out. It might be that they will get more but our luck, they were out. I still have the Adventureland Quest just in case on our last attempt they have more in. Who knows.

Over at Buzz, they only had four Wanted Poster cards left and they gave us one.

At the Candy Shop, they gave us each a card and we didn't even make a purchase. The lady was extremely nice.

All in all it is fun and if the weather holds up, we shall ride Expedition Everest today.

We also went to see the midnight show of Pirates at Downtown Disney and I never had more fun in my life. All the screens showing the movie at 12:01 were sold out and everybody was dressed in pirate attire. It was great fun.

I don't see how it is any different from anyone going with a large group. Again, I wish you all would realize that I didn't turn in 40 different sets of quest and even if I did if there was a valid ticket, real people went in the parks and I used real tickets I don't see where VMK would have a problem with it? It is no different than a Grand Gathering or any other large group.

What VMK might not like was I was giving out the extra quests and if that was frowned upon I would stop but when I asked they didn't mind at all.

The also probably don't like that we have the answers posted here but I don't see that changing any time soon. I have seen Yavn comment negatively about sharing Quest answers.

So to intimate that I would have anything to do with changing the way that quest cards are distributed isn't right.
