Just got back in from a fantastic evening.
I have watched Batley Rugby League FC for 20+ years, thats 20+ years of hope and disappointment.
Tonight we just beat Leigh (Super League hopefuls) 4-25 at their own ground to win a place in the Northern Rail cup final, Bloomfield Road, Blackpool on the 18th July http://www.northernrail.org/northernrailcup/fixtures
My hands are sore from clapping and my voice has almost gone.
If anyone watched it on Skysports tonight I was apparantly shown a few times(probably screaming and shouting:goodvibes)
Sorry to go on about Sport but as a Batley supporter we don't get many nights like this, as this report says the final will be our biggest game since 1952:goodvibes http://www.rugbyleague.com/rugby-league-news/2305

So all that racket was from you Wayne haha, the ground is like 5 minute's walk from my house and we could hear the cheering all night. Well done on the win hope you get your voice back soon.

At least you get a trip to the Seaside aswell! Ill listen out for the shouting when your at Bloomfield road!

Great news your team won and after supporting them for many years you have been rewarded. :thumbsup2

If only I had known, we were there about 1 hour too early, expected to hit traffic somewhere enroute but we didn't, could have come around for a cuppa 1st.:goodvibes

Can't wait. There were only about 200 of us there last night but we outsang the 1,800 Leigh fans, there will be many many more goto Blackpool so expect a lot of noise:woohoo:

Shocked at you not hitting any traffic on that route :O the route's between Lancs/Yorkshire are usually chaos and quite a few roads with roadworks near mine.

Enjoy the Blackpool trip. A lot of people round our town support St Helens or Wigan rather than Leigh.

Same here, majority support Leeds, Wakefield, Huddersfield or Bradford because they are in Super Dupa league and within 20-25 mins away, not easy for small clubs like Batley, Dewsbury or Hunslet etc to survive, crowds under 1,000 and as soon as they get a good player he's snapped up with bigger teams but we have been going since 1880 and were one of the founding clubs of the Northern Rugby Union, just hope there are around for more years. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batley_Bulldogs

I think I am losing my voice having watched England last night but that is another story altogther :headache:

Karen has Switzerland in her works sweepstake, when she told me I laughed. Now I think they have more chance than England.

Hello and welcome - Are you from Workington? I was born there and lived in Whitehaven for years. I now live in Bolton near Leigh though strangely enough
Im afraid even though I grew up in RL town I prefer football:banana:

The big weekend is almost here. This Sunday is the Northern Rail Cup final in Blackpool. Anyone intersted in Rugby League watch Sky Sports 3 this Sunday from 3:30pm(4pm kick off) Our seats are behind the sticks in the South Stand if they do any crowd shots. Batley are the underDOGS but are in top form recently so should be a great game.

A good omen, Paul has chosen Batley to win.:rotfl2:

Brilliant Wayne! Nice to see another who follows Rugby League :)

St. Helens fan myself, plenty success for us over last couple of years, on the rebuild now!

I hope Batley overcome Blackpool at the weekend for you, I'll give them a cheer for you! :thumbsup2
