Hi everyone! This is my very first trip report!
We booked our trip through Dreams Unlimited and my agent was Michelle H. (You guys she is just wonderful!)
Cast:
Me Kathy (31) Disney fanatic and obsessive planner
Husband Richard (35) Skeptic about trusting Dreams Unlimited with our travel plans. Loves Disney but hasn't been for 12 years. (Very hard to please by the way)
Daughter Shelley (10) This trip was totally for her birthday celebration (at least that's our grown up excuse when you get "that look" from co-workers) She is wearing an air cast on her leg so we have to rent a wheelchair everyday.
Dates: 10/27/01 through 11/101
Resort: Caribbean Beach, Room 3246, Trinidad North
Package: Discovery Magic
Day 5: MGM Studios
Today was a little sad because it was our last full day at WDW. My very hard to please, very unemotional hubby comes up to me, gives me a big hug and says "Honey, can't we stay here forever? I don't want to go home! This has been the greatest week ever!" After picking my chin up off the floor and wiping the tears from my eyes, I told him we would start saving to come back again next year. The Disney magic obviously got to him - I loved it!
We had 8:30 PS for breakfast at Hollywood & Vine so we caught one of the early Character Breakfast buses and headed to MGM Studios. Breakfast was good and the total came to $60.45 (We used another Magical Wish).
Hubby has been dying all week to come and play Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. We ended up playing 3 times today! One game I was actually in first place after the first set of questions! I was so excited about getting in the hotseat if the kid in the chair missed his question, but as my luck goes, the next question was "what were the names of Harry Potter's parents?" I am the only person in America I think that has not read those books so of course I got it wrong and dropped out of first place <groan>. One funny note is that all 3 times kids won the hotseat first because they guessed the fastest finger question and just quickly pressed random letters in! Us grownups that tried to think first and press the answer in second didn't stand a chance! It was cute to watch them play though.
Next we did the Great Movie Ride, Backstage Tour, and Muppets 3D. Finally, I parked myself on a bench while Shelley and her Daddy rode RNR Roller Coaster again. (Yes I am a wimp). By the way, today was Halloween and most people in the park were in costume. It was very cute. Also the maids had left a note in our room letting us know that CBR had scavenger hunts and trick or treating and pumpkin carving activities all afternoon to celebrate Halloween! Even though we chose to stay at MGM instead, that was nice to have that option.
It was now time for dinner so we headed over to the Brown Derby for our Fantasmic dinner package. Richard and I had the Filet Mignon and Shelley had a hot dog. For dessert we had White Chocolate Cheesecake, Butterscotch Parfait, and Hidden Treasures (Ice Cream, chocolate chips, and gummy worms). Our total was $101.19 (Another Magical Wish used).
We went over and saw Fantasmic. It was good but I thought Illuminations was better. By the way, it was so slow that only 3/4 of the stadium was filled at showtime. People just walked into the main entrance at 6:30 (showtime) and were seated right away! That made me mad because I really wanted to eat at 50s Prime Time instead of Brown Derby but was afraid not to use the reserved seating. Oh well, next trip I guess.
We went back to the resort to rest and get ready for check out in the morning. (BooHoo)
Tomorrow is Check out and Disney Quest!
