I created my own problem and need help! I've been to WDW many times and have done a split stay at least 2 times.
I have a reservation for 4 nights Sun 11/3 thru Thurs 11/7 at Riverside. We have an evening flight on SATURSAY and do not plan on arriving until 10:00pm ish or later. We just bought our flight tickets 2 weeks ago and time got away and I need to book a room for SAT only. The plan was to not break the bank for a sleep only 1 night stay. All this came about because we ( my sister and I) could not come up with a flight time on Sun that worked well for us combining price, non-stop and time. I cannot get up at 3am to leave the house at 3:30am for a 5:30am flight. I did it last 2.5 years ago and came within seconds of passing out and hitting the floor unconscious. ( I won't bore you all with the health details I found out later). Now I see there are no rooms available at any of the All Stars for SAT Nov 2 which leaves me to pay $$ at Riverside or try to find another resort off site. We will not have a car, we are planning to use Mears shuttle.

What would any of you all think?

Any chance the Hyatt at the MCO airport is a decent rate that night? I love walking over and falling into bed there when I land late, and just heading over to Disney world first thing in the morning.

But the rates have been going up lately…

I was thinking the airport hotel could be a good idea and also keep watching for a room to open up at one of the All Stars.

The easiest thing is to pay for the Riverside night.
Obviously. And OP isn’t happy about it so looking for alternatives.

OP, you gotta run the math. Imho you should price out 4 options
1. POR
2. Hyatt MCO
3. Airport hotel with free shuttle
4. Off-site hotel plus transport cost to POR

From there you will be able to decide what is worth what to you.

Looks like Pop has a preferred room that night, still a bit spendy but not as much as POR and I think about the same price as Hyatt. You could book something and keep checking as there is still a bit of time before your trip and availability changes every day with cancellations. Always a chance you will find an All Star before your cancellation deadline.

There are nice Marriott and Hilton properties near MCO, with free airport shuttles. I'd take the shuttle to the hotel, get a good night's sleep, have breakfast, shuttle back to MCO, and then grab Mears to Disney. If you only need the room to sleep and can't get one (or one you want to pay for) at Riverside, you're gonna need to move anyhow; might as well save some money.

Also, the dates in the OP are off. Friday is 8/2, Saturday is 8/3.
