Took the youngest dd to her first day of preschool today. She was fine, happy to be with her friends and teachers. Her mom is a puddle of tears.

Tell me again how good this is for her :(

She will have so much fun and you get 2+ hours or non-interruppted dis time! What could be better?!!!!!!!!

It is good for, it is good for her, it is good for her.:D

Here's my shoulder, go ahead and cry...:(

Actually she decided she wanted to have lunch with her friends (an option at our preschool) so it's 4 hours of uninterupped dis time!!!

Yeah, I'll be lovin' it.....but not today.....

Can you believe I actually considered doing laundry and vaccuming this morning.....what was I thinking

Thanks for the shoulder! :)

You know I think I'm sad because, with the house so quiet, I have time to slow down and appreciate how much I enjoy my kids. If that makes any sense.......

oh honey your not sad YOUR SICK! LOL Glad you recovered.

Sometimes you need the quiet to appriecate them.

My baby starts next Tues. We actually have to go and register tonight and then tomorrow night we bring him to meet the teachers and the other kids in his class. I am a bit apprehensive. I really hate the thought of him growing up so fast (especially since we probably aren't having anymore kids - my DH is quite happy with just one even though I'd like one more). So I'm a little depressed even though my son is flying high about going. I can understand how you feel.

{{{HUGS}}} sweetie. Pretty soon you will be looking forward to your few hours when she is in school and you won't feel so sad.

{{hugs}} Jennifer. I think you and your dd need to go do something special together after school today.:)

You know Jennifer, this is harder on us than it is on them. She will have a wonderful time and the social interaction will be great for her.

Hugs, it does get easier, I promise!

Ice cream will make you both feel better.:) I bet she'll have all kinds of good stuff to tell you about.:) I hope tomorrow is easier on you.:)

I have always made chocolate chip cookies on the first day of school for my kids. I try to time so that they get a warm cookie and a tall glass of cold milk as soon as they walk in. It has always given us time to talk about their day. Both kids always tease me that they know what I will be doing on the first day of school. They even have the nerve to check to make sure that the indgredients are in the fridge and pantry the day before school starts. My oldest is a senior and doesn't hesitate to remind me that he always gets cookies on the first day. I haven't missed a first day of cookies yet. Both DS and DD look forward to their cookies. It is a nice tradition. If you don't have time to make the cookies before she gets home, why don't you make cookies together(even if they are the sliced ones) and have them ready for big sis when she gets home.

Awww....{{{Hugs}}} to you Jennifer! The first day is always so hard. Before you know it though, you'll be cherishing that quiet alone time. :) Cam and I had a tradition his first year in school...every Friday, we had "Friday treat". I would either take him somewhere after school, or have a little treat, toy, etc...in the car for him when he got in. We haven't done that for a couple of years... I should do it again this year. :)

{{{HUGS}}} for you. It'll be a little easier each day. Do enjoy your extra DIS time!

{{hugs}} to you Jennifer!! You know that I understand how you feel! With all of our new free time we'll have to meet for coffee one morning!

{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}} to you, Jennifer! Hope you made it through the day OK.:D

<font color=navy>Big hug. I know the feeling.

Just think how exciting it will be when she starts sharing what she's learned ... so cool to watch them develop. :)

How are you doing today! {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}
