My Trip to the 2013 D23 Expo - That's a Wrap!

How did you manage with all of those bags? Wow! I loved those white Mickey head benches! I would love to have that.

I'm sorry that you've missed it for the past two Expos. I always enjoy it, although on one of the days, I heard someone go past the line and say, "Don't bother wasting your time." I thought that was a rather odd comment.

It's no problem that we missed the Treasures of the Disney Archives for this year and 2011. Seeing the wardrobes, props, etc. are neat to see during the Expo but it wasn't on our priorities during the Expo for us which is all about the seminars and shopping. During our trip we tried to go in the afternoon before the screenings but the lines were long and my DA didn't want to wait in the queues. That's why I like to read and see your pictures during your trip report since you had the opportunity to see it on Thursday.

I remember during a few times when I was in line for the shopping at the Mickey's of Glendale store that some people tried to sneak in when they came from the Journey Into Imagineering pavilion. Some of the people around me were angry and told them to get back in the line. But they didn't listen when one of the staff members told the people that sneaked in to go at the back of the line.

I am way behind on my trip report since I have not been feeling well these last few days and have been working a lot.

The Disney Store is a nice place to shop but every year during the Expo, I don't go inside that store since the lines were long and I mostly shopped for the Expo & WDI merchandise. I was able to go on the last day on Sunday just about 15 minutes to go until it was 7pm and most of the good stuff were already gone but it was a very nice well theme store. If I do get the Sorcerer passes for the 2015 Expo, I will definitely stop at the Disney Store to see what kind of interesting stuff to buy. But I am a Disney parks and resorts merchandise guy where I did spent a lot of money at the Dream Store and Mickey's of Glendale Store so maybe there will be something in 2015.

I knew that you and Fran bought a lot of stuff on Thursday before the Expo and glad that the two of you had a good time shopping at the Expo.

Look at all that loot!!! There sure is a lot of merchandise and they sold out????

WOW!

You guys are so close to your next trip. Our trip seems like it is forever away. My year has had a lot of waiting.:goodvibes

But at least you are planning!

I know aren't they cute? Fran wants to make some.

LOVE the look on your faces where you are holding the bags :rotfl2: it;s like " Score !! " :cool1:

Well, we did! :confused3

She always has a good time when she is shopping! :rotfl2:

WOW!

When I drove by on either Friday or Saturday the gal out front of the store who was regulating the queue was announcing what all was sold out and she had a huge long list of stuff. Evidently they only made 300 of the Sorcerer Mickeys thinking the Sorcerers would buy them all.

So, we interrupt your trip report for a real life update.

Today we went out to the park for a DISmeet with Podsnel and Jenny was there too.

Jenny didn't stick around for drinks and apps, but after we had a little relaxing time Fran went shopping and out did herself. So much so that we actually had to be helped out of the park and back to our car! :scared1: You think we went nuts at the Expo, take a look at THIS!

And this was "only at one store" as Fran put it! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Now that's a couple of shopping sprees! Just remember you have to move all this stuff soon.:rotfl:

Thanks for the update! Loving the goods you purchased and adore the plate for the kitchen talk about perfect! That will look smashing ( not literally us Brits say it to mean it will look great not that you closed the fridge door too hard lol ) . How wonderful re your dismeet and also to meet new friends in the line. We too have meet some friendly folks this way. Nice to see photo of main street been a while since we been to DL Cali. Apart from the lovely view on Soarin one of our fav rides. Hope you are sleeping well and have had so e good news re your loan. Just gonna check that thread now....fingers crossed it is a positive update...

I hope all those beautiful packages were not drown your sorrow packages :( and I want to know what was in them! :hyper:

Wow. I mean....wow!

I don't know what I find more amusing, the huge bags coming out of the Expo or the cart coming out of the park! :rotfl:

I think I want to just visit your Disney storage room. Seriously. Hee!

Holy loot ladies! Ellen said there was a dolly involved but WOW! No one shops like A&F! :teeth:

Sorry I didn't stick around for the drinks and app part of the meet but I had the kids who were jonesing to ride more more more! I wasn't carefree like you chicas. I did appreciate the invite and was happy I got to say hi and see Alison's little trinket on her necklace. Gorgeous!

Can't wait to see what's INSIDE the boxes. :hyper:

Goodness, you have been busy. I am surprised that you managed to fit so many bags on the scooter. Yesterday's haul was quite impressive, too.

Yes, we are planning!

Love your dress! So cute! You two had such great smiles as you were headed out of the park! It looks like you had a lot of fun!

Let me know if you figure out a way to make those benches. They might look nice in Disney house. So far we have a Villains bathroom, a Princess bathroom and a Haunted Mansion room. Who knows what's next?:rotfl:

Love the dresses but someone of them I would have no idea which princess they belonged too.

The MP memorabilia is amazing! Anyone know the story on the bag? I keep hearing it was just "rediscovered."

You are correct. The carpetbag was a recent find in the archives. One of the archivists was touring me around the exhibit and said that little tidbit.

I overhead some speculations (carpet bag gossip?) that it was *not* the bag that was auctioned off a few years ago by Profiles in History. So that makes sense.

:rotfl:Carpet bag gossip. Hee!

Those designer inspired dressed are insane. I absolutely love the Aurora and Tiana one. Beautiful!

Tick-toc! I had to take pictures of your pictures and send them to my brother. We watched that movie all the time when we were younger (fast-forwarded through all the lady heads scene of course:rotfl:) Didn't think they would ever recognize that movie anymore since it never got popular. Glad to see them out!

Oh.my.gosh. You guys know how to shop!:worship:
