I'll try to keep this as short as possible. We were at disney last week. Had a lot of fun...very hot! I said it last year and I'll say it again and this time I mean it, we're NEVER going to disney so close to summer again! It was way too hot! We found ourselves rushing to get things done to go back to the resort pool.
AKL- BEAUTIFUL resort! However, we will probably never stay there again. Reasons-too big! Took too long to walk to buses, pool, QS food area (which was in other building).
We were in Kidani, which has no QS (and limited gift shop)...which was a big pain considering most days in the parks we didn't stay to closing, so had to stop in parks to eat dinner rather then eat at resort. We did eat at Mara (AKL QS) a couple times and their selection is very limited.
We also didn't like only having housekeeping once the whole week. With 5 of us, garbage added up and us needing towel/washclothes often.
Our savanna view was nice but most of the time we didn't see any animals....they just weren't in our section in the morning (do they put them in at night?). Not too sad though that we missed seeing cows with big horns and deer. :/ No biggie.
The poolside bar does serve QS meals...great! However, they only serve until 6pm...yeah, pain. And they only serve drinks until 9pm...yeah pain.
I know I only wrote about the bad, lol....but there was a lot of good. The poolside games/activites the kids enjoyed, the pool area and toddler area is beautiful! It is really a nice place! However, while there, we missed the theming and convenience of the values that we're used to. Without the disney feel, we didn't really feel like we were at disney. Next time we'll be going back to Movies or Pop.
Seven Dwarfs was open last Wednesday for AP holders I'm assuming. They were letting people on and those had to show a card of some sort. We went back last Friday and it was open to the public but an hour wait and it was the hottest day, so nope...we didn't hop on that train.
We liked the new FP+....it was great not having to wait an hour for TSM and a few other popular ones. We were able to try a few different rides due to the new FP system.
Anyway...it was a great trip but after 4 years in a row, I think we're going to take a break next year and go somewhere else....a little more relaxing.
Ahh of course we said that last year too, lol. Anyway....any questions, just ask.
