Hello all
Many Magical greetings, I'm back from my wedding/honeymoon.All in all it was pretty enjoyable. So lets get started:

11/20/02- Check in w/mom at the contemp. resort, the front desk clerk seemed pretty put out to help (we're s.o.g. transfers) but that shouldn't have matter. anyways, our room weren't ready which I didn't really expect at 12 p.m. but what the heck, right? so we went to MGM while we waited at called every other hour to see if our rooms were ready, I have to mention that the operaters at the contemp. weren't nice either. The park wasn't that busy which was nice. Fianlly, we called before dinner @ 4 30 pm and the rooms were ready
rooms 7330 & 7331 (I'll get the room later).
We then went to dinner @ 50's cafe in MGM.
It's was really good. Service was nice and outgoing, food was plenty and very good. Although I ordered the onion rings for an appetizer and they are very very skinny you barely eat them. Not something I'd get agian. Ok, so we went back to the contemp. the rooms I think are very nice and "happy" colors only thing I didn't like was the "extension cord" line by the bathroom. The view from 7330 was beautiful, you could see the space mt. and the bay. It was also perfect because every night there you clearly see the M.K. fireworks.

11/21/02: Check into polynesian. We'll this was very cool, I get to the check in desk and the man I got was very nice as is EVERYONE there, so I go through the whole check in thing and he foes to tell me my room and surprise surprise my wonderful wedding cordinator lynn mckitrick has gotten us upgraded to the hawii building. That was so nice I almost cried. I got my lei and my DH's. It is so very pretty there. The people in concierge are so nice too. The rooms are very roomy. We had 1524, it had a garden view but hey I ain't complaing remember this was for free and we were C.B. transfers.

11/22/02 My wedding day- Sunset pointe is a lovely place to get married. everything was great. except it does get very windy at times.
Rev. Tim did a good service.

yachtsman steakhouse for dinner @ 530pm
Setting us was slow and the host up front was rude, but we finally got setted. our waiter antonio was very sweet and prompt and made up for everything else. It is nice there and the whole dispute over kids there..we'll there were kids there but they were pretty quite.

antonio gave DH and I and pretty dessert for free and he gave me a rose..awww;)

plaza restaraunt was nice but service lacked
Kona cafe was great..tonga toast is good.

any other ? ask away hope I helped and didn't waste ya'lls time

til next time:earsgirl: :earsboy:

What happen with the host upfront? We eat at the Yachtsman on every trip and everyone is usually very nice. I am sorry you had a bad experiance. Usually we show up give our name and are seated right away. Did you have to wait?

I didn't understand the part about kids at the Yachtsman. Were you trying eat somewhere without kids? I don't mean to be snotty, but you were at WDW. Of course there are kids! If that's what you meant.

I think she was talking about another post that was on the resort board recently. It was about weather or not to bring children to Yachtsmen Steakhouse. Evidently she saw children there and wanted to post about it to clear up that recent question.

hello agian
thank you for your welcomes.
Muffy, exactly right- thats what I was refering too.

We had a party of 9, and that may have made a play into it...but they were short and promised we'd be seated next when my mom-in-law asked when we could expect to be seated because some of us had to use the restroom(like you needed to know that, right?). It just wasnt very "disney" of them to act put out to help a party of 9 people. Another thing the cast member on the phone said dress nice,so we did indeed and then everyone we saw getting seated infront of us wore t's and shorts or jeans and filp flops. So, thats wasnt very cool either.Oh well. til next time

So you made a priority seating for a party of 9 at a certain time you then showed up at that time and the host at the Yachtsman acted like they were not expecting you? That is not a good thing.

As far as dressing nice I find that at WDW people dress all different ways from the very dressed up to as you said shorts and tank tops.

How was the food once you got seated? We love the steak there.

Also the bathroom comment does not really make sense as there are restrooms right in the hallway just a little ways down from the Yatchsman. You did not have to wait to be seated to use a restroom.

Ok Tiffany~

1st- We made a p.s for 5:30 we got there at 5:20 the person up front may have been having a bad day,I dunno nor do I care b/c I made it clear that our waiter made up for it and we had a great time. I don't know why everyone is focusing on that place it was 6 magical days not just 1 night at a steakhouse, sorry to sound hostile but gosh

2nd~ We were well aware of the bathrooms we saw them as we entered but if you REALLY want to know my DH stomach was sick so it wasn't a stop and go pit stop he was in there for about 15 min. we just didnt want to get sitted without him an no we didnt tell them up front they already said it would be about 5mins. and that turned into 15mins and we were the 1st ones there.

so.....if anybody has ? about anything else(other than yachtsman let me know)

Kelly~  :earsgirl:

Well Kelly,

I was just trying to understand what exactly happen to you and your party. You stated in your original post that the host was rude and I was trying to understand how much interaction your party had with the host. As I stated we eat here on just about every trip and have had very little interaction with the host other then giving he/she our party name and then usually being passed off to someone else to be seated. That is why I asked for details to try and better understand your situation.

I then comment on your reply because I was trying to determine if the service had gone down hill. Based on the details you provided I could not do that. The comment about maybe being a party of 9 was why you were treated rudely and yours mothers question about the bathroom just did not make sense. That is why I asked the questions for clarification. I was trying to make an informed decison about the service provided based on the facts.

So I was not trying to upset you but I did want to fill in the blanks.

I am glad that overall you had a great trip.
